Teacher's aide arrested for having sex with two students in swimming pool
A Florida teacher's aide was arrested and subsequently charged on Friday night after police say she had sex with two students in a community swimming pool. The reported incident took place at Kirstie Rosa's condo building and involved two 15-year-old boys.
According to a Collier County Sheriff's Office arrest report, the 27-year-old has now been charged with three counts of lewd or lascivious behavior with two victims under the age of 16. The teaching assistant is accused of becoming intimate with the two students at her condo in East Naples, as well as visiting one boy's home several times to have sex.
The Naples Daily News has reported that Rosa is also charged with supplying alcohol and narcotics to the boys.
Prior to taking the boys to a party, Rosa had given them a combination of alcohol, marijuana, and nicotine for vape devices when she collected them in her car.
A police report revealed, as per the Daily Mail, that one of the boys' classmates had also attended the party and was given marijuana by Rosa. It is after this party that Rosa is alleged to have gone back to her condo with two of the boys and had sex with them in the swimming pool.
The fling allegedly began on October 30 when the Rosa and the students began communicating on Snapchat. Rosa then went to one of the boys' homes to watch Netflix, smoke marijuana, and have sex.
Video footage from the pool area showed Rosa, 27, having sex with the 15-year-olds, NBC reported.
However, despite the footage, Rosa said that while she allowed the students to use her condo's swimming pool but "didn't hang out with them".
On Monday, Rosa was fired from the Phoenix Alternative School where she was employed. The school - which works with troubled students who are at risk of expulsion - has yet to release a statement on the matter.
The 27-year-old's misconduct was discovered when one of the boys' 20-year-old brother heard her in his sibling's bedroom. A second witness who saw her in the student's room identified Rosa in a photo line-up.
But she has denied having any contact with the boys and supplying them with alcohol and drugs. Rosa has admitted to watching television with a student at their house, but then asked for an attorney.
Per NBC, one mother who said her son used to go to Phoenix Alternative School believed Rosa shouldn’t be allowed to work there or at any other school if the allegations are true.
"These students are in there for a reason and for a teacher to do that I just think it’s really horrible," said Shannon Van Antwerp
Kevin Buja, a resident in the nearby area, reportedly said: "It makes me angry and wary about what’s going on over there".
According to a Collier County Sheriff's Office, Rosa has been charged with three counts of lewd or lascivious behavior and promoting sexual activity with a victim under 16 as well as two counts of providing narcotic equipment for a minor and giving alcohol to someone under 21.
She is currently being detained at the Naples Jail Center where she is being held on a $52,000 bond.
