On Monday (July 15) - four weeks after Jay was reported missing - Spanish authorities shared the heartbreaking news that a body had been found in the village of Masca, a short distance from where the teen was last seen alive.
The 19-year-old Brit - from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire - had been vacationing with his friends in Tenerife Lucy Mae Law and Brad Hargreaves while attending the NRG music festival. The trio had attended an event at the Papagayo beach club in the lively resort of Playa de la Americas on June 16, with Jay opting to stay out with two men he had met a few days earlier.
After sharing a Snapchat post from their Airbnb in the village of Masca at approximately 07:30AM, Jay then called both Brad and Lucy Mae and informed them that he was going to try and walk back to their holiday apartment - a journey that would have taken him around 11 hours.
Shortly after 9:00AM, Lucy Mae reported Jay missing.

Following weeks of searching and concern, the Spanish Civil Guard said on Monday that rescue teams have discovered human remains - with "evidence strongly suggesting" that they are those of Jay, per Sky News.
Although no official confirmation has been revealed as of this writing, tributes have been flooding in for the teenager.

Supporters have taken the opportunity to share tributes in the comments and messages section for the family, with one person writing: "We have been thinking of you all and praying for you over the last month. We are so very sorry that you've had to go through this. Your son looks like a wonderful young man. We are sending you love and strength for the days ahead."
A second added: "So, so sorry to hear the devastating news about Jay. Debbie, Warren and Zak, may the love you share and the wonderful memories bring you strength, and remember, Jay will always be in your hearts."
Just hours after the news was broken on Monday, the British overseas missing persons charity LBT Global released a statement revealing that Jay's family were being supported at this time.
