Lucy Mae was in Tenerife when 19-year-old Jay went missing on June 17 and was the last person that he called.
The friends were on the island attending the NRG music festival when Jay opted to head to an Airbnb with two British men he had met several days prior, rather than return to their shared accommodation.
The following morning, the 19-year-old called Lucy Mae to explain that he was thirsty and his phone battery was on one percent.
He revealed that he was going to attempt the 10-hour walk back to his accommodation from the village of Maca, but was sadly never seen again.

Just shy of a month later on July 15, human remains have been discovered just a 20-minute walk away from where Jay's phone last pinged.
As reported by Sky News, the remains were found next to the 19-year-old's belongings, indicating that this was Jay.
As reported by BBC News, documents belonging to the missing teen were also discovered with the body.
Investigations remain ongoing, but officials have revealed that they believe that Jay died due to an "accidental fall".
No official cause of death has been revealed.
As revealed by Sky News, a court spokesperson has today revealed that fingerprints examined in a post-mortem have confirmed the body is that of the British teenager.
"We have a positive identification and more data: fingerprint tests show that the body is that of Jay Slater and that the death was caused by trauma consistent with a fall in a rocky area," the statement reads.

Lucy Mae shared an emotional tribute to Jay on Instagram.
"Honestly lost for words. Always the happiest and most smiley person in the room, you were one of a kind, Jay, and you’ll be missed more than you know.
"I’m sure you’ll ‘have your dancing shoes polished and ready’ waiting for us all. We all love you, buddy. Fly high," she wrote, according to the Independent.

Law posted photos of Slater enjoying time with friends on boats, singing Whitney Houston songs, and dancing to techno music at festivals.
Jay and Lucy Mae - along with their friend Brad Hargreaves - were on holiday together in Tenerife when Slater disappeared.
Hargreaves has also taken to Instagram to express his sorrow.
"No words. Nothing be the same without you. Rest easy brother. Love you always," he wrote, accompanied by a heartbreak emoji.
Mark Williams-Thomas, an investigative journalist and former police officer who has been assisting Jay’s family in the search, told the Mirror the body was found close to where Jay’s phone last pinged on June 17.
“The area where Jay’s body was found was highlighted yesterday afternoon with the search and rescue helicopter in the area. It is around a 20-minute walk from the pin drop location,” Williams-Thomas said.
He described the terrain as “rough and hazardous,” noting that a slip or loss of footing in the area could be fatal.
Our thoughts are with Jay's loved ones at this time.
