While everyone's attention should be on the newlyweds, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the rumour mill can't help but go into overdrive whenever Meghan Markle's estranged family rears its head.

Prior to the nuptials, Meghan's half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., wrote a scathing letter to Prince Harry. Her half-sister, Samantha Grant, also had harsh words for the Prince after he asserted that the royals were the family that she "never had"; and then there was all the drama surrounding Meghan's father, Thomas Markle Sr., who received heart surgery just days before his daughter was due to walk down the aisle.

Now, Samantha Grant has branded the royal family an "embarrassment" for "ignoring" her father, and alleges that she will hold the erstwhile actress responsible if he passes away.

Samantha Grant launched yet another scathing attack on her sister after she and her husband paid a visit to an exhibition in London on Nelson Mandela and met with his relatives.

Taking to Twitter, she asserted "Glad you have so much time to gallivant around paying tribute to others while ignoring your own father! How can you be so cold and look in the mirror? Harry? I guess I was right."

"How about you pay tribute to your own father?! Act like a humanitarian act like a woman! If our father dies I'm holding you responsible, Meg," she continued, before adding "My father is not an embarrassment for loving his daughter! The royals are an embarrassment for being so cold. You should be ashamed of yourselves."

Grant's comments come after Meghan's father, Thomas Markle Sr., gave an interview over the weekend in which he stated that his daughter looks "terrified" and had a "pained smile" as she began a lifetime of royal engagements.

Speaking to the Sun, Markle alleged that he had not heard from his daughter in two months, and that he fears he is is being frozen out over speaking publicly about her wedding to Prince Harry, and the ensuing staged paparazzi photos.

"I think she’s under too much pressure. My thing about my daughter now is I think she’s terrified," he asserted. "I’ve seen her smiles for years. I know her smile. I don’t like the one I’m seeing now."

He also remarked on the fact that his daughter's style has dramatically changed, saying "It’s ridiculous, why do they have to cover their knees? The Royal Family seem like something out of a 1930s movie."

Markle told the publication that his message to Meghan would be that he loves her, misses her, and that he apologises for "anything that went wrong".

The Duchess of Sussex has had a packed schedule since her wedding back in May. She had her first official solo outing with the Queen - in which she boarded the royal train - as well as Trooping the Colour and a trip to Ireland with the Duke of Sussex.
