A video has emerged on social media this week, which appears to show Princess Anne being given a dressing down by Queen Elizabeth - AKA her mom - for not properly greeting Donald and Melania Trump during the president's visit to England.

The rather humorous scene occurred at a reception held in Buckingham Palace on the evening of Tuesday, December 3, ahead of the main NATO summit in Watford.

Watch the cringeworthy scene unfold in the following video:

The footage shows Prince Charles, Camilla, and Queen Elizabeth II shaking hands with the President and the First Lady, while Princess Anne stands awkwardly at the threshold to the staterooms.

Her Royal Highness can be seen gesturing to Anne to step forward to join the gathering, but the princess appeared non-complicit: widening her arms seemingly in a shrug of apathy.

The video was uploaded to a YouTube channel dedicated to the British royal family, titled: The Queen Beckons Reluctant Princess Anne to Greet Donald Trump!

And people on social media loved the comical moment (which I'm sure we can all relate to). One Twitter user wrote: "The Queen chastising Princess Anne for not greeting Trump and Anne not giving a single s*** is the mood we all need to take into today."

The video was captioned: "US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump mingle with the Queen and the royal family at a reception for the NATO summit at Buckingham Palace. World leaders are in the UK to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the alliance. At one point, the Queen appears to chastise daughter Princess Anne for not joining her in greeting the president."

According to the Daily Mail, other footage appears to show British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Canadian leader Justin Trudeau, and French President Emmanuel Macron gossiping about the American leader.

Although Trump’s name is not mentioned explicitly, Trudeau can be heard stating saying: "He was late because he takes a 40-minute press conference off the top!" before going on to say: "You just watched his team’s jaws drop to the floor" - which seems to imply the politicians were discussing the Republican leader.
