Royal editor for the Daily Mail, Rebecca English, said in a series of tweets that the couple were forced to postpone their May wedding as a result of the ongoing pandemic.

English added: "The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11am on Friday 17th July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor. The small ceremony was attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and close family.

"The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant Government Guidelines."

The princess and millionaire property developer were scheduled to get married back in May at the Chapel Royal, at St James's Palace, in London, in a ceremony that would have seen 150 guests in attendance, The Sun reports.

It is still not known if Beatrice's younger sister, 30-year-old Princess Eugenie, and brother-in-law Jack Brooksbank were able to attend.

The Sun reports that The Queen was driven to the private church along with Prince Philip from Windsor Castle, where the pair have been isolating since March.

The ceremony was reportedly finished by 11:45am, as The Queen is due to deliver a knighthood to national hero Captain Tom Moore later today at 3:00pm.

Per the Daily Mail, Beatrice and Edoardo first started dating back in 2018.

The property developer is the son of former Olympic skier Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi and Nikki Shale, and has been a friend of the Yorks "for some time".

Edoardo also has a son, Christopher, whom he shares with his former partner Dara Huang.
