Despite the hardships that they are facing, the Royal Family appeared over the weekend for the Trooping of the Colour, marking Catherine's first public engagement since revealing her diagnosis.

The Princess of Wales, 42, arrived at Buckingham Palace with her husband, Prince William.

Later, she was seen in a royal carriage, dressed in an elegant all-white ensemble, accompanied by her three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Also over the weekend, the Princess of Wales shared an image of Prince William and his children for Father's Day.

The snapshot, which was taken on a beach by the royal, shows her three children standing and hugging her husband while staring out to sea.

Less than a week on, and Catherine has shared a similar picture of the future King with his kids, this time from the front.

The joyful image captures the prince leaping into the air with his three young royals - Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte.

The Princess of Wales signed the accompanying message: "Happy birthday Papa, we all love you so much!"

Fans were quick to offer their thoughts, and everyone appeared to have had the same positive reaction.

One person said: "Happy birthday, William! I absolutely love how that photo turned out! Fantastic timing and lighting!"

A second person wrote: "Omg this is such a lovely photo. The Princess is so talented! Happy birthday Prince William!"

A third added: "You spoil us with these amazing photos. Thank you. And yes, we all love you, Prince William. Happy birthday!"

A fourth penned on Instagram: "Possibly the best pic they have ever shared- so relaxed, normal, full of joy."

Regarding the Princess of Wales, she recently released a rare public statement as she continues her battle with cancer.

Despite her understandable absence, Princess Catherine issued an apology for missing the Trooping the Colour rehearsal on June 8.

In a letter to the Irish Guards, where she serves as honorary Colonel, the Princess wrote: "I wanted to write and let you know how proud I am of the entire Regiment ahead of the Colonel’s Review and Trooping the Colour.

"I appreciate everyone trooping this year has been practicing for months, and dedicating many hours to ensuring their uniforms and drills are immaculate. Please pass my apologies to the whole Regiment, however, I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon.

"Please send my very best wishes and good luck to all involved," she continued, signing off as "Colonel Catherine."
