The official news was revealed at Saturday morning's Accession Council ceremony, which saw King Charles III officially proclaimed as the nation's new monarch.
Per BBC News, one of the orders approved by King Charles III at the event was for the day of his late mother's funeral to be a Bank Holiday.
As Lord President of the Council Penny Mordaunt said at the event: "Drafts of two proclamations. One - appointing the day of Her late Majesty's state funeral as a bank holiday in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
"Two - appointing the day of Her late Majesty's state funeral as a bank holiday in Scotland.
"And of two orders in council, directing the Lord Chancellor to affix the great seal to the proclamations."
The new king then answered: "Approved."
The official date of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral is still unknown, but it is believed it will take place ten days after her passing.
Queen Elizabeth II passed away on Thursday, September 8, at Balmoral, with Buckingham Palace announcing just after 6:00PM: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon."
Elsewhere during the ceremony, King Charles III made it clear that he is fully aware of his duties at the new monarch, saying: "I am deeply aware of this great inheritance and of the duties and heavy responsibilities of Sovereignty which have now passed to me.
"In taking up these responsibilities, I shall strive to follow the inspiring example I have been set in upholding constitutional government and to seek the peace, harmony and prosperity of the peoples of these Islands and of the Commonwealth Realms and Territories throughout the world."
Similar to his first national address on Friday, King Charles III once again honored his late mother's dedication to being queen, saying: "To all of us as a family, as to this kingdom and the wider family of nations of which it is a part, my mother gave an example of lifelong love and of selfless service.
"My mother’s reign was unequaled in its duration, its dedication, and its devotion. Even as we grieve, we give thanks for this most faithful life."
