Alan Ritchson learns fate after being filmed in violent brawl with neighbor
Reacher star, Alan Ritchson has been cleared of any wrongdoing following a physical altercation with a neighbor in Tennessee, after police concluded he acted in self-defence.
The incident took place in Brentwood, near Nashville, where Ritchson reportedly clashed with neighbour Ronnie Taylor over complaints about noise from the actor’s motorcycle.
After reviewing the case, authorities confirmed they would not be filing charges.
What have the police said?
Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin said: “After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued.
"Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense.”
Pepin also explained that Ritchson chose not to press charges against Taylor, even though Taylor admitted starting the confrontation.
He added: “Although a potential reckless endangerment charge was considered, Mr. Ritchson declined to pursue charges.
"With the agreement of the District Attorney’s Office, the case is now closed, and no further action will be taken.”
The situation first gained attention after footage of the fight surfaced online, showing Ritchson striking Taylor while he was on the ground. However, additional video later revealed more context, including clips that appeared to show Taylor approaching and initiating the confrontation.
Love thy neighbor
According to Taylor, the dispute began a day earlier when he believed Ritchson was riding his motorcycle too fast in the neighbourhood.
He claimed the tension escalated when he saw the actor riding again the next day.
Describing the moment things turned physical, Taylor said: “On Sunday, when I was cleaning my bike outside my house, he rode past once, twice and on the second time, I walked out in front of him, and I said, ‘You got to stop. Someone’s going to get hurt.’”
He continued: “Then it escalated quite quickly from there. I did push him because he was coming toward me on his bike.”
Taylor also admitted he pushed Ritchson more than once, which is consistent with police findings that he initiated the contact before Ritchson defended himself.
Ritchson has since returned to the U.S. after filming projects abroad, including season four of Reacher, as well as a spin-off, Neagley, where he is set to make a cameo appearance.
With no further action taken, the case is officially closed, and the film and TV star is free to continue his acting career.
