Bernie Sanders says it would 'be great' for Cardi B to become a politician
Politician and former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has welcomed the rapper Cardi B's potential career in politics, after the star stated her intention to run for congress in the future.
On January 12, the rapper tweeted to her millions of followers: "I do feel like if I go back to school and focus up I can be part of Congress. I deadass have sooo much ideas that make sense. I just need a couple of years of school and I can shake the table. [sic]"
Following the post, opinions on the subject of Cardi B entering the political scene were divided, with some approving of the idea, while others were more critical of her suitability.
But now Vermont senator and 2020 US election hopeful Sanders has given his two cents on the idea and seems to be wholeheartedly in favor of the idea of Cardi B becoming a congresswoman.
Speaking to celebrity gossip site TMZ., Sanders stated: "Cardi B is deeply concerned about what’s happening in the country. She knows what it’s like to live in poverty and struggle, and it would be great for her to bring that experience to politics."
Cardi B has also lashed out against her critics, tweeting on January 13: "Let me tell you something cause every time I post anything political I get attack all type of crazy. If you are a conservative & if you support a opposite party that’s OK ( unless you racist) we can get into friendly debates on here voice your opinion. [sic]"
In a recent video, Cardi B implored her followers to learn about their democratic candidates:
She added: "I’ll voice mines HOWEVER don’t try me and don’t take my kindness for weakness.I BE VIOLATING!!! I don’t really like being on that type of time. We grown ! Let’s be grown . Lets teach and learn. [sic]"
