Corey Feldman, who hit the big time as a child actor in the 80s, reported that he had been attacked earlier this week. The 46-year-old, who starred in movies such as The Goonies and Stand By Me, believes that it was an attempt on his life and has tried to spread this message across social media.

In his initial tweets, he posted two photos of himself in hospital, and explained:

"I'M IN THE HOSPITAL! I WAS ATTACKED 2NITE! A MAN OPENED MY CAR DOOR & STABBED ME W SOMETHING! PLEASE SAY PRAYERS 4 US!"

"THANK GOD IT WAS ONLY MYSELF & MY SECURITY IN THE CAR, WHEN 3 MEN APPROACHED! WHILE SECURITY WAS DISTRACTED, W A GUY A CAR PULLED UP & ATTACKED! I’M OK!".

Speaking to TMZ after the attack, he said that he was "driving home from dinner with his security guard when he noticed a car on the freeway driving so erratically it caused a crash". Feldman got off the freeway, noticed a car was following him that resembled the "erratic vehicle", at which point his security guard intervened.

The security guard reportedly had words with someone in this car, and, when Corey was stopped at a red light, the passengers pulled his door open and jabbed him a single time with a sharp object, which he believed was either a knife or a syringe.

Now, two days after the incident, he has shared an image of the injury on Instagram, along with the caption:

"The world’s smallest knife wound… or?! Yes I was attacked two days ago, yes they used some sort of sharp weapon and yes it went into my body!

"This is what the scar looks like now, obviously if it was a knife I got very lucky and I’m blessed. If it was a syringe, I will pray for the best results. God bless."

In follow-up tweets, he claimed that the LAPD were currently investigating the case as an attempted homicide. According to Feldman, this is likely related to "mounting threats" he had received across social media platforms.

For their own part, the LAPD tweeted to say that they were investigating the incident.

In the months since the Harvey Weinstein scandals set off the #MeToo and #TimesUp, Feldman has stepped forward to speak about sexual abuse he and other actors suffered at a young age. Back in November, he even claimed that Corey Haim, who passed away in 2010, were abused by pedophiles working in the industry.

"There are people that did this to me and Corey that are still working, they’re still out there, and they’re some of the most rich and powerful people in this business," he told Barbara Walters in an interview. "And they do not want what I’m saying right now. They want me dead."

He has said that there were six abusers, "one of whom is still very powerful today", and hopes to reveal their identities in the near future. With the comments he has been making in recent times, it seems like Feldman believes himself to be a victim of a conspiracy, though the validity of his assertions are unclear.
