A court in Turkey has thrown out a paternity lawsuit filed by a woman who claims Donald Trump is her biological father, ruling that there was not enough evidence to support the case.
Necla Özmen, 55, from Ankara, had submitted the claim in September, requesting a DNA test and legal recognition of paternity, according to reports. However, the court dismissed the case, finding she had not provided sufficient factual proof to move forward.
Özmen is officially listed as the daughter of Satı and Dursun Özmen, who raised her. In her filing, she explained that she was born in 1970 and only learned details about her alleged origins much later.
She claims that in 2017, her mother revealed the truth about her birth. According to Özmen, her mother told her that she had delivered a stillborn baby in hospital and was then given another newborn by an American woman named Sophia. Özmen alleges that this woman had a relationship with Trump and later abandoned the child, who was then registered as part of the Özmen family.
Despite the court’s decision, Özmen is continuing her efforts. She has reportedly appealed and also contacted the U.S. Embassy and American courts. She said she believes her biological father was working with NATO at the time and that her adoptive mother had even been shown a photograph of Trump when the baby was handed over.
“I don’t know how accurate it is. I want to find out if he is my father,” she said, adding: “I don’t want to cause him any trouble. I just want to know the truth.”
Özmen also said she hopes Trump would agree to a DNA test and expressed interest in meeting him, saying she believes he would not refuse.
Although the case has been dismissed for now, Özmen is continuing her legal challenge, having filed an appeal and additional petitions in the United States. She remains determined to pursue a DNA test in an effort to confirm whether her claims are true.
If what Özmen alleges is true, she would become Trump’s sixth child and the divisive president’s first born. It would also mean that the U.S. leader has had children with four different women.
