The so-called 'Deadpool Killer', Wade Wilson, has been sentenced following the brutal killings of two women back in 2019.

On Tuesday, Wilson appeared in court to learn his fate after being found guilty for the murders of 35-year-old Kristine Melton and 43-year-old Diane Ruiz.

Back in October of 2019, Wilson - now 30 - strangled Melton to death the morning after they met in a bar. Later that day, he brutally beat, strangled, and repeatedly ran over Ruiz with his car.

Assistant State Attorney Andreas Gardiner previously told the court: "This case was about killing for the sake of the killing [...] Strangulation is the epitome of life slipping through someone’s hands."

During his sentencing on Tuesday (August 27), Circuit Judge Nicholas Thompson told the courtroom: "The evidence shows the murders were heinous, atrocious and cruel. and that the second murder was cold, calculated and premeditated."

Wilson was sentenced to death in the case of both murders.

The tattooed killer appeared emotionless as the judge delivered the sentence.

In Florida, state law requires eight jurors to vote for the death penalty. Ten out of the twelve jurors voted for the death penalty for the killing of Ruiz, and nine out of the twelve jurors voted that Wilson should be put to death for Melton’s murder.

Judge Thompson told the Lee County Courthouse in Fort Myers that he saw "no basis" to overrule the decision, the New York Post reports.

In a letter to the court, Wilson's adoptive parents pleaded that the court not give him the death penalty, stating in a letter that: “the human is still in there.”

However, State Attorney Amira Fox told reporters after the sentencing that Wilson will now pay the "ultimate price".

Per Fox News, Felix Ruiz - the father of Diane - responded to the sentencing by saying: "This is not the end. The end is when the accused takes his last breath and I will be there at the execution. That's a promise."

Our thoughts continue to go out to the family and loved ones of Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz at this time.
