Taking to his social media platform on Thursday, the former President of the United States hit out at Christopher Wray after he questioned whether or not the bullet shot by Thomas Matthew Crooks at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania actually hit the 78-year-old.

It comes as Wray was answering some questions at a House Judiciary Committee meeting a day prior about what caused the Republican presidential nominee’s ear wound.

"With respect to former President Trump, there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear," he said in response to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, who asked about the eight shots that were fired on July 13.

Trump was clearly less than impressed with someone questioning the legitimacy of his injuries, with the business tycoon taking to Truth Social to slam the FBI director.

"FBI Director Christopher Wray told Congress yesterday that he wasn’t sure if I was hit by shrapnel, glass, or a bullet (the FBI never even checked!), but he was sure that Crooked Joe Biden was physically and cognitively 'uneventful' - Wrong!," he wrote in a lengthy statement.

He continued: "That’s why he knows nothing about the terrorists and other criminals pouring into our Country at record levels. His only focus is destroying J6 Patriots, Raiding Mar-a-Lago, and saving Radical Left Lunatics, like the ones now in D.C. burning American flags and spray painting over our great National Monuments - with zero retribution."

Trump then went on to re-confirm that it was in fact a bullet that had grazed his ear.

"No, it was, unfortunately, a bullet that hit my ear, and hit it hard," he stated before adding: "There was no glass, there was no shrapnel. The hospital called it a “bullet wound to the ear,” and that is what it was.

"No wonder the once storied FBI has lost the confidence of America!," he concluded the statement.

The FBI has launched an investigation into exactly what struck the former President's ear during the rally in Butler, as per the New York Times.

It comes after 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at the Trump rally, allegedly hitting Trump and also injuring three other supporters in the crowd, one of whom tragically passed away.

An investigation into the shooting is still underway as authorities hope to find a motive behind the attack.
