Erika Kirk has made an announcement as Turning Point USA's new CEO. The new widow promised to carry on her husband’s work following his killing at a university event earlier this month.
On Friday, she made a rare appearance on The Charlie Kirk Show, reassuring listeners that the conservative podcast would continue with a new format, just two weeks after Charlie Kirk was gunned down while speaking at Utah Valley University. “The Charlie Kirk Show is not going anywhere,” she said. “My husband’s voice will live on. The show will go on.”
She added that rotating hosts would take over the mic going forward, calling the show “the north star of the conservative movement, of the voice of the youth.”
A widow's promise
Throughout the broadcast, Erika was seen smiling as she shared memories, including a moment when her mother compared Charlie to Rush Limbaugh — a comment she said inspired him deeply.
She also confirmed plans to move ahead with the “American Comeback Tour,” a nationwide campus event series Charlie had launched shortly before his death. Now named CEO of Turning Point USA, Erika said the organization is moving “full steam ahead.”
“We’ll never be silenced,” she said. “That’s why continuing his platform in a beautiful, honorable way will reinforce that he will never be silenced. My husband’s voice will go on.”
Forgiveness and fallout
Just days earlier, Erika made headlines for publicly forgiving the man accused of killing her husband. Speaking at a packed memorial service in Arizona, she said she chose to forgive Tyler Robinson, 22, because it’s what her husband — and her faith — would have wanted.
“He wanted to save young men. Just like the one who took his life,” she said through tears. “I forgive him because it was what Christ did. And what Charlie would do. The answer to hate is not hate.”
Robinson has been charged with aggravated murder and could face the death penalty. His defense is being handled by Kathryn Nester, a former public defender experienced in high-stakes cases. A preliminary hearing is expected in the coming weeks.
