Edwin Castro became America's first lottery billionaire after scooping a mind-blowing $2.04 billion in a Powerball draw.

The lottery winner, from California, purchased the ticket from a local gas station in November 2022 but it wasn't until February 2023 that his life changed forever.

Castro reportedly walked away with a lump sum of $628.5 million after taxes and quickly became a media darling for how he has been spending his fortune.

Mansions:

According to USA Today, Castro bought an eye-watering $25.5 million estate in Hollywood Hills, California on March 1, 2023.

The outlet reported that the property is 13,500-square-foot and features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a wine cellar, a bar, a movie theater, a game room, a spa, and a fitness studio.

Clearly, one mansion wasn't enough as a few days later, he purchased a second home in Altadena. A $4 million estate with views of the San Gabriel Mountains and has five bedrooms and four bathrooms, plus a pool and a movie theater, Florida Today reported.

It was so alleged that Castro splashed out once more on a third $47 million home in Bel-Air, California in September 2023. However, a California firm claiming to represent him said that the reports were inaccurate.

Fancy cars:

Every mansion needs a driveway packed with a luxury car collection, right?

The Daily Mail revealed that the billionaire reportedly acquired a vintage white Porsche for $250,000.

The new vehicle now joins his roster of cars: three Volkswagen Karmann Ghias, a green 1970s Porsche 356, a black Porsche 1980s 911, and a gray Ram 1500 TRX.

In July, Castro spoke about purchasing cars for his family, friends, and supporters on social media, writing: "Excited to give back to the community that supported me before I won the lottery!"

"I've decided to buy new cars for all my loved ones and provide funds to help people start their own businesses. Thrilled to share this journey of success with those who matter most!" he added.

Vacations and Security:

The lucky Powerball winner also revealed on his X (formerly Twitter) page that he spent his money on a luxurious family vacation to Fiji.

Sharing photos on the social media platform, he penned: "Enjoying unforgettable moments with my family in Fiji - soaking up the sun, exploring pristine beaches, and creating cherished memories together in this island paradise."

In addition to this, the lucky Powerball winner hired security guards, costing him an estimated $21,000 a week, The Mirror reported.
