After a recent spate of attempted mail bombings, the FBI has now managed to recover another two suspicious packages. The packages were believed to be intended for senator Corey Book and James Clapper former Director of National Intelligence. The two packages are currently in the custody of the FBI's labs in Quantico, bringing the total number of packages to 12 in total. Other intended recipients include Bill and Hillary Clinton, the Obamas, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Eric Holder, Maxine Waters, Joe Biden and actor Robert De Niro.

The package addressed to Booker was found near Opa-locka in South Florida, while the package for Clapper was found at a post office in New York City. The FBI is apparently following a number of important leads in South Florida, a suspected origin of some of the mail bombs, according to ABC News.

Commenting on the investigation, New York City Police Department Commissioner James O'Neill stated: "We are investigating all this with great precision. I can say with certainty that we will identify and arrest the person or people responsible for these acts. Law enforcement professionals do not care about the politics involved in these acts."

Meanwhile, head of the New York office of the Postal Inspection Service Philip Bartlett, stated that law enforcement has been aggressively searching the mail and have found no more explosive devices since Thursday. Bartlett stated: "In terms of tracking, we have over 600,000 postal employees out there right now. We have the eyes and ears looking for these packages. I will say in the postal network, we have found nothing in the last eight hours. So what we have so far is what we have, 10 parcels."

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders has denied vehemently that the president bears any responsibility for the attempted bombing campaign, telling reporters at a press conference that: "The president is certainly not responsible for sending suspicious packages to someone, no more than Bernie Sanders was responsible for a supporter of his shooting up a Republican baseball field practice last year... The idea that this is at the hands of the president is absolutely ridiculous."

Meanwhile, president Trump himself commented on the situation by blaming the media on Twitter, writing: "A very big part of the Anger we see today in our society is caused by the purposely false and inaccurate reporting of the Mainstream Media that I refer to as Fake News. It has gotten so bad and hateful that it is beyond description. Mainstream Media must clean up its act, FAST! [sic]"

Only time will tell whether the Bureau is able to apprehend the perpetrator, whoever they are. Our thoughts are prayers are with all those affected at this time. Stay safe everyone.
