The man accused of killing American Idol music supervisor Robin Kaye and her husband, musician Thomas Deluca, allegedly used the couple’s own firearm in the fatal shootings, according to recent reports.

Kaye and Deluca, both 70, were found dead inside their $4.5 million home in Encino, California, on July 14, each with gunshot wounds to the head, as previously reported. The tragic discovery was made after someone close to the couple requested a welfare check, concerned they had not heard from them.

New details revealed by Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman during a community town hall meeting on July 21 suggest the suspect, 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian, gained access to the couple’s home, located on White Oak Avenue, and used a firearm found inside the residence to shoot them.

According to ABC7 Los Angeles, the suspect allegedly called police himself after the incident, providing his name, which ultimately led to his arrest.

Four days before the couple was discovered, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) had responded to a reported burglary at the home. Officers reportedly found no evidence of forced entry at the time and left the property.

It's now believed that Kaye and Deluca may have already been dead or dying when police first arrived, according to a felony complaint, per PEOPLE.

Authorities believe the victims returned home during the break-in, which escalated into a deadly confrontation.

Deluca was found in the bathroom, while Kaye was located in the pantry. A blood trail led police from the front of the home to a shattered sliding glass door in the back, which may have been the suspect's entry point. First responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department pronounced the couple dead at the scene.

Boodarian, who lived in Encino, was arrested the day after the bodies were discovered. On July 17, he was formally charged with two counts of murder and one count of residential burglary with a person present.

The murder charges include special circumstance allegations for committing multiple murders and for committing murder during the commission of a burglary, as well as multiple firearm enhancements.

LAPD officials have emphasized that the attack appears to have been random, with no known connection between the suspect and the victims.

During the town hall meeting, Deputy Chief Marla Ciuffetelli acknowledged concerns about local crime, saying (via CBS News): “We're having phenomenal numbers on crime reduction. That being said, when two wonderful people end up dead in their own home, those crime statistics fall kind of flat.”

Robin Kaye had a prolific career in music and television, serving as music supervisor on American Idol from its launch in 2002 until 2023.

Her other credits include Lip Sync Battle, The Singing Bee, After the Sunset, and various Miss USA and Miss Universe broadcasts.

Thomas Deluca was an accomplished musician and songwriter. He most recently released an album titled Street Rock in 2022.

A convicted murderer who was executed yesterday remained defiant in his stance before he was put to death.

Duane Eugene Owen was arrested after he fatally stabbed a Delray Beach babysitter and beat a single Boca Raton mom to death approximately 40 years ago.

The first incident saw Karen Slattery brutally raped and bludgeoned to death with a hammer while she was babysitting the two daughters of the Helm family. When the parents got home just after midnight, they noticed that their house was dark and quiet, which was unusual so they started looking around the rooms for Slattery.

They were shocked to see a pool of blood on the floor with a hammer laying next to it in the living room.

They then entered the master bedroom where they discovered the teenager's body which had been violated and stabbed a total of 18 times.

Slattery was only 14 at the time.

Law & Crime reported that Owen confessed to the teen’s murder and even detailed his plan in an audio transcript.

The 62-year-old told detectives that he broke into the home through the bedroom window earlier in the night and spotted Slattery braiding the young girls’ hair. He then decided to leave, have a few drinks, then go back to attack her.

Upon returning to the home, he grabbed a hammer that he had found in the bedroom closet, attacked the babysitter while she was watching TV before confessing that he "dragged" her upstairs and "just raped her."

Then just five days later, a similar incident saw Georgianna Worden brutally attacked inside her home in Florida.

Just like Slattery, Worden was killed and then sexually assaulted. The 38-year-old's children found her dead body the next morning while they were getting ready for school.

Owen was arrested and detained after DNA evidence linked him to the case. The killer confessed to both murders and was placed on trial in 1985 for Slattery's murder and then in 1986 for Worden's.

Both juries found the man guilty and he was sentenced to death.

The Palm Beach Post reported that Ron DeSantis initially delayed Owens' death sentence so he could be examined by three psychiatrists.

However, on June 15, the execution went ahead and the 62-year-old died at approximately 6:14 PM via a lethal injection at Florida State Prison in Raiford.

Owens appeared to lack remorse until the very end. When asked if he had any last words minutes before his lethal injection, he reportedly said "no" - seemingly in an act of defiance.

Though he did leave a final statement with authorities shortly after he woke up on his final day.

Insisting that he would "live on", he claimed in his final statement, per Palm Beach Post: "I have transcended space and time, I have see the visions of the Crow. My energy and particles will transform ad infinitum, I will live on. I am Tula. 13."

Owens had been on death row for 38 years before he was executed.

The parents of the OnlyFans model accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend have been arrested on suspicion of "concealing evidence".

Courtney Clenney was charged with second-degree murder with a weapon for the fatal stabbing of her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, on April 3, 2022, as reported by Court TV.

Obumseli, known as Toby to his loved ones, tragically passed away of a single stab wound to the upper chest in the luxury apartment building he shared with Clenney in Miami, Florida.

The 27-year-old pleaded not guilty and claimed that she stabbed her late partner in self-defense as he was allegedly physically abusing her.

Clenney was arrested in Hawaii and extradited to South Florida, where she has been at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond since August 2022.

On January 10, her parents, Deborah, 57, and Kim Clenney, 60, were taken into custody by police in Texas and booked into Travis County Jail just after 2:30PM on out-of-state felony warrants, according to WPLG.

Per the report, Kim reportedly found a laptop belonging to his daughter's late boyfriend in the same apartment where the man was fatally stabbed. The device was not taken immediately and turned over to the police.

"Clenney’s parents attempted to conceal evidence as they cleaned out her Edgewater high-rise apartment," the outlet said, citing police sources.

They added that the parents had allegedly tried accessing the laptop before handing it to Obumseli's attorneys.

Clenney's attorney spoke out about the parents' arrest and said that it sees it as a way of keeping them from speaking ahead of a gag order hearing later this week.

"We’re extremely surprised and very concerned about the arrest of the Clenney family; this could be an example of prosecutorial overreach and misconduct," Frank Prieto said in a statement obtained by Local 10 News. "The Clenneys have quite a story and it’s a story the State of Florida maybe does not want the public to hear.

"We believe the Clenney family has been targeted with some trumped up charges to discredit them in the press and make their lives miserable. It stinks of a power play by prosecutors to control the narrative," he added. "It appears the prosecutors are going for media mileage in this one with little or no evidence as we have yet to know what the true accusations are."

Earlier this month, the law firm representing Obumseli’s family released a disturbing three-minute-long clip that allegedly shows the pair fighting in a room in Aspen, Colorado, back in 2022.

It begins with Clenney screaming at Obumseli: "I was sober for two weeks! Two weeks, and then why am I not sober? Because of you!" before repeatedly hitting him. The boyfriend then grabs the model's hands, prompting her to tell him to let go repeatedly.

While the cause of the fight is unknown, Clenney accuses Obumseli of flirting with other women and touching someone’s breast. "Christian I’m f***ing fed up with you, I’m fed up with how you f***ing treat me," she said.

At one point she looks at the third person in the room and says: "Actually, I’m done. Can you send him home," before turning her attention back to Obumseli and appearing to slap him again.

"You’re costing me money, I didn’t do s*** since I got to this f***ing house because of you," she yelled, before concluding the video with: "Christian, you’re fired."

While the attorneys for Obumseli’s family argued that the footage reveals Clenney’s "physical and verbal abuse," the attorney representing the model reasserted her claim that she was the victim of abuse.

"This video is an example of the toxic relationship between Obumseli and Courtney Clenney. Evidence exists that Obumseli physically abused Courtney on prior occasions and on April 3, 2022, Courtney was forced to defend herself from Obumseli’s physical attack," her attorneys said in a statement to the publication.

A Colorado woman is facing murder charges after allegedly admitting to a gruesome crime involving her lover.

According to an affidavit obtained by TooFab via the Grand Junction Police Department, 32-year-old Shenting Guo called authorities on May 14, saying she "believed her boyfriend was dead, but couldn't provide a reason why." Dispatch noted she was "hysterical" as they gave her CPR instructions.

When officers arrived, they discovered a horrifying scene. The affidavit states they saw "a bed with a large amount of blood smeared on it," an "upset" woman, and "a naked male laying on his back with his feet under the bed" who was unresponsive. Officers attempted CPR on the victim and noticed "the male's penis appeared to be cut off" and he had "apparent trauma in his genitalia." EMS also noted a "stab wound" on his leg. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

As an officer left the room to wash his hands, Guo allegedly approached him in the hotel laundry room. According to the affidavit, she told the officer "to arrest her now" and referred to the victim as her "boyfriend/fiancé/husband." 

She said the victim "wouldn't let" her sleep and said she stabbed him in the leg that morning - but that’s not why she cut his penis off as she revealed in a police interview. Guo was placed in handcuffs, read her Miranda Rights, and despite requesting a lawyer, continued to make statements. Among those: "something to the effect of she killed him and she cut off his penis."

Back in the hotel room, officers discovered a knife under the bed and the victim's "severed penis in the trash can" of the bathroom. After being transported to the police station, Guo waived her right to an attorney and spoke with another detective. During that interview, she said she thought the victim "got her pregnant again" and they "argued over the issue of the child may not be his." 

She admitted to stabbing him in the leg because she was "angry" he questioned if the child was his, but claimed she "was not trying to kill him" and he "didn't appear to be in pain."

Guo then told police she went to the drug store for water, rubbing alcohol, ibuprofen, and "greens," but forgot bandages. At one point, she said the victim's "eyes went 'dull,'" he was "cold and said he may die." Regarding why she allegedly cut off his penis, she said she did it "to see if [the victim] would wake up" and even warned him beforehand, but he didn't respond.

Guo also told her father the victim "drank himself to death," but told her mother she stabbed him and cut off his genitals. She allegedly used two different knives – one for the stabbing, the other for his penis. Police say Guo and the victim shared a three-year-old child and were "in an intimate relationship" for five years. She was later charged with second-degree murder while in the heat of passion and domestic violence.

A hotel manager reported hearing shouting from the room in the early morning hours of May 14, including a man "yelling for help." When she approached the door, she "no longer heard yelling" but heard the pair talking. The manager said a male voice asked for paper towels; she didn't attempt to make further contact and eventually walked away.

Per online records, Guo is being held on $1 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 22.

Further details have been revealed about a man who died in downtown Los Angeles after cutting his own penis off with a pocketknife.

In the early hours of March 7, Ryan Dexter Sutherland was found with horrific injuries after a 7/11 security guard who witnessed the incident across the road from the LA Convention Center alerted police.

The 31-year-old was found to have stabbed himself over 20 times and attempted to cut his own arm off with a pocketknife while high on methamphetamines.

Now, new details from the medical examiner's report have been shared, showing that the levels of drugs in Sutherland's system were high enough to kill him.

Sutherland was found with stab wounds to his neck, upper abdomen, wrists, forearms, and genitalia according to the report, per the New York Post.

A toxicology report also showed he had deadly levels of methamphetamine in his system as well as MDMA.

He had blood concentrations of 1.9 ug/mL for meth and .24 ug/mL for amphetamines, which are levels that can be deadly, but this was not ruled as his cause of death.

Sutherland's death was ultimately ruled as suicide due to multiple “sharp force injuries” which he'd inflicted on himself with a non-serrated pocketknife about two inches long and three-quarters of an inch wide.

According to the report, the wound to his genitals spanned almost a foot in circumference, exposing his testes and "degloving" the penis.

The wounds which likely ended his life were to the artery and vein in Sutherland's right arm and wounds to his neck which damaged his jugular vein and trachea, the medical examiner ruled.

After police were called to the scene near the intersection of Figueroa Street and Pico Boulevard by the 7/11 security guard who witnessed Sutherland mutilating himself, officials found Sutherland's blood-soaked clothing scattered across the sidewalk.

Sutherland, who was described as a black man of 5'11" tall, weighing 264 pounds, with a clean-shaved scalp, a moustache and goatee, and brown eyes, was identified using his fingerprints.

His aunt told police that Sutherland had no history of threatening or attempting suicide, but had previously been to rehab for illicit drug use.

Little else is known about Sutherland's past, other than that he was diagnosed with ADHD.
