Today marks the 81st birthday of the current President of the United States, Joe Biden. Since being sworn into office back on January 20, 2021, Biden broke records as the oldest POTUS in history. Biden was 78 years old at the time of his Inauguration Day - overtaking the former oldest president in history, Ronald Reagan, who was 77 at the end of his second term. And November 20 marks President Biden's 81st birthday. And despite many people taking to social media to wish Biden a happy birthday, others have instead questioned whether there should be an age limit on the presidency. A second <a href="https://twitter.com/Andy4B/status/1726514799620878464">added</a>: "There should be and age limit of 60 years old when it comes to political positions like president or prime minister!" "Should have been an Age Limit. 70 should be the last age one can run for President. Period," a third person <a href="https://twitter.com/IUTruthtellers2/status/1726605126968934718">wrote</a>. "Biden being 81 is insane why would you wanna be president at 81," a fourth <a href="https://twitter.com/TheySaySESAY/status/1726603585658794461" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tweeted</a>. Each time he's been <a href="https://vt.co/news/us/donald-trump-praised-for-his-response-to-joe-bidens-nasty-fall">seen falling over</a> or <a href="https://vt.co/news/us/joe-biden-apparently-muddles-his-words-as-he-says-he-has-cancer-in-global-warming-speech">fumbling his words</a>, many of his opponents will question if he's physically or mentally fit enough to be in the Oval Office. However, considering the next presidential election is in 2024, it would mean that Donald Trump will take the title of oldest president in history if elected. Credit: Joe Raedle / Getty]] Over the weekend, Florida Gov. and Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis spoke with <a href="https://edition.cnn.com/videos/politics/2023/11/19/ron-desantis-jake-tapper-trump-age-sotu-vpx.cnn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN's Jake Tapper</a>, who asked whether or not age is a factor in the next election. DeSantis responded by saying that the presidency is "not a job for somebody that is pushing 80". And last month, Trump was <a href="https://edition.cnn.com/2023/11/20/politics/joe-biden-birthday-81/index.html#:~:text=Biden%20already%20is%20the%20oldest,president%20in%20history%20if%20elected." target="_blank" rel="noopener">asked</a> by Megyn Kelly in an interview on her eponymous Sirius XM if Biden was too old to be president, to which, he replied: "Age is interesting because some people are very sharp and some people do lose it, but you lose it at 40 and 50 also [...] But no, he’s not too old at all.
