The Kentucky State Police Department has confirmed that 32-year-old Torilena May Fields was arrested after officers found the dismembered remains of her mother at the victim's home in Robertson County.

Authorities were alerted to a dismembered body at the property following a report from a man who had been hired to carry out work on the property and had reportedly witnessed a dismembered body.

The man had gone into the backyard after nobody answered the door. That's when he made the gruesome discovery, per troopers’ statements and an arrest citation.

Per WCPO and Local 12, the man also found a pile of hair he believes belonged to the victim.

Although the police department did not confirm the victim's name, local outlets such as LEX 18 and WKYT have identified her as Trudy Fields.

An arrest citation detailed by LEX 18 and the Courier Journal reveals that the witness claims he saw the daughter "casting spells" and "being confrontational" when he saw the mother and daughter together the day prior.

Police say daughter Torilena May was held up in the home for approximately 12 hours after authorities had first attempted to contact her.

They were eventually able to obtain a warrant for the property and arrested the daughter without incident. Torilena May was reportedly covered in blood upon her arrest.

Sharing gruesome details of the crime scene, police say they found a bloodied folded mattress next to the body of the victim, with "multiple body parts and organs" inside.

Police believe the body parts had been cooked inside of a pot using the oven. The post was said to be "warm to the touch" when discovered.

The Kentucky State Police Department says that Torilena May is being charged with obstructing governmental operations, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse.

Further charges may be brought against her as the investigation continues.

The 32-year-old is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday (October 14). She is currently being held at the Bourbon County Detention Center.
