Kyle Kennedy's death at 42 reignites chilling questions about the infamous 'Kennedy curse'
Kyle Kennedy's tragic death at the age of 42 has raised questions about her tragic family history.
The granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy and daughter of his son Michael sadly passed away on September 21 at her Westwood home in Massachusetts.
No cause of death was listen in Kyle's obituary, but she suffered a major injury in 2020, resulting in 'long-term paralysis, disability and other medical challenges’.
The spinal cord injury left her paralyzed, though she would become an advocate for people with disabilities and testified against discrimination in health care.
Kennedy spent most of her life in Massachusetts and was best known as an academic student who won awards for her Latin.
However, her passing has raised more questions about her family's history of tragedy, known also as 'The Kennedy Curse'.
What is The Kennedy Curse?
The Kennedy family has undergone decades of untimely deaths, political scandals, and emotional losses.
Kyle's death has once again brought the 'curse' under a spotlight, with the 'Kennedy Curse' becoming a phrase closely linked with the American political dynasty for generations.
While the circumstances of her death remain under investigation, others in her family previously suffered tragic deaths.
Her father, Michael Kennedy, died in a skiing accident in 1997.
Kyle later suffered another personal loss when her infant daughter, Josephine, died days after birth.
The losses began decades ago, though, as Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., the eldest son of Joseph and Rose Kennedy, died in 1944 in a military aviation mission in World War II.
His sister, Kathleen Kennedy Cavendish, died in a plane crash four years later.
Most infamously, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas in 1963, and his brother Robert F. Kennedy was was assassinated in Los Angeles in 1968, while campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination.
This worrying trend would continue, as Robert’s son David died in 1984, before Michael's death in a skiing accident.
In 1999, John F. Kennedy Jr., his wife Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and her sister Lauren Bessette would die in a plane crash.
While these tragedies are very real, there is no evidence of a supernatural curse - it is sadly a coincidence and an extraordinary succession of events suffered by one of the country's most famous families.
