A woman who went missing after failing to board a connecting flight sent a concerning text to her loved ones before she disappeared.

Hannah Kobayashi, 31, flew from her home in Maui, Hawaii to Los Angeles on Friday (November 8).

She was scheduled to board a connecting flight to New York City at LAX but unfortunately missed the 30- to 45-minute window to get to the departure terminal.

According to NBC News, the young woman's family revealed that she was waiting for an opening for a last-minute flight to NYC.

In the meantime, she decided to do some sightseeing in LA and reportedly went to places like The Grove shopping center in the Beverly Grove neighborhood for a Nike marketing event on November 10.

The next day, she allegedly sent a chilling text message to her loved ones, family member Larie Pidgeon wrote on Facebook on November 14.

"Hannah’s last message to us was alarming - she mentioned feeling scared, and that someone might be trying to steal her money and identity," Pidgeon wrote. "She hasn’t been heard from since, and we are gravely concerned for her safety.”

The worried relative spoke to NBC News about Hannah's final text and shared that some of the alarming messages didn’t sound like they were written in her voice.

Family members quoted one of the texts in a video report from KHNL of Honolulu, and it read: “I got tricked pretty much into giving away all my funds for someone I thought I loved.”

Pidgeon said the messages describe identity theft. "She said that someone was stealing her identity, that she felt scared," she also shared, before adding that Hannah's aunt, Geordan Montalvo had also tried to reach her.

"Her phone pinged at LAX at 4 p.m. and then after that, Geordan kept trying to talk to her, and then it went dark. Her phone went dead, and her communication cut off completely,” she continued.

Hannah’s sister, Sydni Kobayashi, told HawaiiNewsNow: "She texted her that she was scared and that she couldn’t come back home or something... It was just really weird texts … it doesn’t sound like her, like there’s just something off about it. So I wasn’t too sure. I don’t know if it’s her or if someone else was texting.”

Hannah's family revealed that the 31-year-old was an aspiring photographer who had planned to explore the art scene in NYC. She was supposed to land on November 9 and visit the Museum of Modern Art.

Her worried loved ones reported her missing to the LAPD and the FBI, but police officials have said it is the primary investigating agency on the case, per PEOPLE.

A Facebook group called Help Us Find Hannah, which includes some family members, has claimed that the missing woman was spotted with someone in surveillance footage in the area of Pico Boulevard and Hill Street in downtown LA.

Relatives said they couldn't comment on the footage, which doesn't state when it was recorded, in detail because they didn't want to hinder the police investigation.

Hannah's family member said that based on the security video, there's reason to believe that their loved one "is not OK".
