An Arkansas mom has claimed that her daughter was kicked out of daycare for wearing Black Lives Matter t-shirts, saying that officials did not agree with the "racist" items of clothing.
Mom Deval Brockman sent six-year-old daughter Journei to His Kids Learning Center in Russellville last Thursday, only to later receive a complaint from the school over the young girl's choice of shirt.
Journei has been attending the pre-school for six months, according to KARK 4, and last week wore a white shirt to the daycare center that read: "All lives can't matter until black lives matter".
More on this story in the news report below:Speaking to KARK 4, Deval said: "[The daycare worker] was like, 'I don't like it, I don't agree with it, and I would prefer it if you didn't send her to school in it again.'"
After raising the issue with state officials, Deval was told that her daughter could continue to wear the t-shirts - providing they do not contain any profanity.
The mom said: "If I'm supporting something, I'm gonna wear it, my child's gonna wear it, to help say that our voices need to be heard."
However, the next day, the mom sent the six-year-old back to the daycare in a shirt adorned with a raised fist - only to be told that Journei was no longer welcome at the center.
In an interview with New York Daily News, Deval said: "I was really upset. It's a T-shirt! There's no profanity. It's just stating the truth, stating facts.
"They kept saying, 'It's racist.'"
Officials also allegedly told the mother that "there's color", to which Deval said:
"Well there is color. If they can't see that, they'll never understand. But it's something they need to know."
The school's director Patricia Brown said in a statement to KARK 4: "We feel a childcare environment is not a place for a parent's political views to be addressed or played out, regardless of race."
But this response only furthered to exasperate the mother, as Deval says the shirts do not reflect any political issues and that they only pertain to "everyday life".

The mother has been left "very upset" by the daycare's decision, with Journei also saying that she's going to miss her friends and favorite teacher.
But Brockman says that she will continue to teach her daughter about the Black Lives Matter movement as well as looking for another pre-school that will support the family.
