It turns out that we're not the only ones who think that the famous couple may be moving ever so slightly too fast. In fact, Pete's tattoo artist has come out this week claiming that he warned Pete about moving quickly with his girlfriend - but the SNL star completely ignored him.

The actor turned to tattoo artist and friend Jon Mesa when he wanted to cover up his forearm tattoo of ex-girlfriend Cazzie David's face. But Jon was reportedly hesitant to help, and even less enthusiastic at the prospect of Pete getting another girlfriend tattoo.

"After we were done, I told Pete, ‘Hey, dude, let’s just stop with the girlfriend tats until after [Grande’s] your wife,’" Jon said. "Because relationships come and go, and Pete is a really young man. [But] I think that went in one ear and out the other."

Unfortunately, the tattoo artist was right - it did go right in one ear and out the other, with the American actor getting, not one, but two new tattoos to symbolise his new relationship with Ariana. Pete got her signature Dangerous Woman ears behind his ear, and her initials on his hand.

LA tattoo artist London Reese shared photos of the actor's brand new ink on Instagram with the caption, "We had a good night somewhere in the hills of Los Angeles. Pete loves him some Ariana."

But, although he believes the couple are moving fast, Jon nonetheless still supports the relationship and has spoken out about how in love the pair appear to be.

“They are just riding that magical wave of bliss together,” Jon said about their visit. “It’s obvious that Pete is super in love with Ariana... They are super stoked, [about the engagement]. When they walk into a room together you can tell Pete and Ariana are in love. How could you not be happy for them?"

It's certainly true that the couple have continually shown their adoration for one another on social media, the most recent example being on Ariana's birthday when Pete posted a photo of his beloved on Instagram with the caption reading: "happy birthday to the most precious angel on earth! you’re my favorite person that ever existed :) i love you sm".

However, one birthday post was apparently not enough. The actor later uploaded a second image of them together to Instagram, saying: "one more for the queen. words can’t express what a real fucking treasure this one is".

Not one to stay silent on social media, the One Last Time singer responded to her fiancé's declarations of love, with a picture of him on her Instagram story with the caption "i have no wish I have everything I ever wanted hi".
