Teacher who had '3 hour sex marathon' with student, 17, committed shocking act in bed she shared with husband
An ex-high school teacher who admitted to having an affair with her student is reportedly still living with her husband nearly two years after the scandal saw her become a convicted sex offender, thus losing her job.
McKenna Kindred, who taught at Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley, Washington, admitted that she had a sexual relationship with the teenage student, allegedly conducting the affair at her marital home and at school.
Shocking act at McKenna's marital home
The relationship reportedly included an encounter in the bed she shared with her husband, Kyle Kindred, while he was away, but despite the revelations, Kyle has remained married to McKenna and the couple have since started a new life together in Idaho, according to the Daily Mail.
The Kindreds previously lived in a property worth around $1 million in a rural area south of Spokane, with the home reportedly owned by Kyle's family.
However, shortly after McKenna pleaded guilty, the couple purchased a new property together in Kuna, Idaho, relocating to a home worth a reported $498,000 just three months after McKenna was convicted of the offences against the student.
Kyle has subsequently began working as a real estate lawyer at Holland & Hart in Boise, though it remains unclear whether McKenna has found employment since leaving teaching.
She voluntarily surrendered her teaching license after becoming the subject of an investigation by the Idaho Standards Commission after the pair’s affair was disclosed to authorities.
McKenna allegedly had sex with the 17-year-old at her home while her husband was away, following months of sexually explicit messaging, with those messages later shown to school officials and authorities.
How the pair's affair was found by school officials
Among the messages uncovered by investigators were several in which McKenna appeared to discuss her feelings towards the teenager.
“I wanted you to be in my room,” one message read. “When other girls talk about you in my class I could feel myself getting mad,” she wrote in another.
“I really like being touched by you,” she also told him.
Investigators later interviewed the student, who admitted that he had had sex with McKenna at her home and exchanged sexually explicit videos with her.
In a prepared statement, she acknowledged the consequences of her actions.
“As a result of my actions, I’ve lost my career, valuable friendships, freedoms and have let down countless people who placed their trust in me,” she admitted.
Despite pleading guilty, McKenna avoided a prison sentence, and was instead given two years of probation, ordered to pay $700 in fines and fees and required to register as a sex offender for 10 years.
Over two years after admitting to the sexual misconduct, McKenna and Kyle reportedly remain married and are living together in their Idaho home.
