The Pentagon just released new images of a mysterious 'Black Triangle' UFO spotted by the FBI
Newly released Pentagon documents have revealed that federal agents reported spotting a mysterious black triangular object flying at high speed near a sensitive, highly confidential US site earlier this year.
The alleged encounter took place in June at an undisclosed location near a national security facility in the western United States, with officials describing the object as a “matte black triangular shape of extremely low aspect ratio”.
The Pentagon releases a new report
According to an FBI observation report, two federal agents were stationed at a post several miles west of the site when they were alerted to the possible sighting.
After detecting what they described as a “thermally elevated aerial object”, the agents reportedly moved to a position where they could get a clearer view.
In their account, they wrote: “We initiated a visual survey of the western horizon and almost immediately observed a substantial, non-reflective, dark black triangular object most resembling a delta wing drone.
“We estimated the object's wingspan at approximately nine to fifteen feet, its depth at six to nine feet, and its thickness at one to two feet.”
The agents also noted that the object appeared to be “hotter than ambient temperature” despite having “no visible exhaust gases”.
A separate Department of War memorandum also detailed the reported encounter, combining the agents' observations with an account from a third official.
The third individual reportedly spotted the object using long-range thermal equipment before the other observations were recorded, and according to the memorandum, the “unidentified craft” initially climbed vertically for around 10 seconds, reaching an estimated height of 200 to 300 feet above the nearby ridge line.
The report claimed the object then stopped its upward movement “instantaneously” before maintaining a steady hover for approximately 20 seconds.
It subsequently “reportedly transitioned from a zero-velocity state directly into high-speed horizontal flight”, according to the document.
The craft allegedly then carried out a “fluid banking manoeuvre and terrain-hugging descent into a canyon drainage in approximately two to three seconds”.
Those who observed it compared its speed to that of a military aircraft, describing it as “as fast as a fighter jet”. Despite its reported velocity, the object allegedly produced “no detectable acoustic signature”.
What do the images include?
The newly released FBI material also included several images that appear to depict a triangular object against the surrounding landscape, illustrating what officials said they witnessed.
However, significant portions of the documents remain redacted, leaving many details about the reported encounter undisclosed.
The files were released by the Pentagon on Friday as part of the latest batch of material, which was publicized following Donald Trump's directive for his administration to provide greater transparency about what the government knows concerning unidentified objects in the sky.
The documents detail what has been observed by officials, but do not establish the object's origin, nor confirm whether it was extraterrestrial or not.
