Donald Trump has taken to Twitter to slam fashion magazines for apparently not giving his wife Melania a single cover shoot during her tenure as First Lady.

It would be fair to say that the intervening weeks since the US Presidential Election have been somewhat tumultuous for the 45th POTUS, peppered as they have been by Trump's ceaseless, baseless allegations of mass voter fraud following his loss.

Several failed legal challenges later, and the President of the United States appears to have turned his ire onto an altogether more unlikely target: US lifestyle and fashion magazines.

People think Melania appears to pull her hand away from Donald Trump in this video:

In a tweet Friday, Trump called the First Lady "the greatest of all time," while retweeting a post from Breitbart that claimed "elitist snobs in the fashion press" had kept the "most elegant First Lady in American history" off their covers.

"The greatest of all time. Fake News!" Was Trump's comment in full.

Per Business Insider, the absence of the First Lady from newsstands is a longstanding gripe of Trump supporters - who point to claims of liberal bias by comparing this Michelle Obama's 12 covers during her two terms as First Lady.

Back in February of this year, actor and Trump supporter James Woods tweeted, "If you need any further proof of the shameless bias of the liberal mainstream media, the most stunning First Lady in American history has never graced our nation's major style magazine covers."

Meanwhile, Melania Trump was recently accused of photoshopping the White House Christmas portrait.

The 50-year-old First Lady took to Twitter last week (December 18) to share the official portrait with her 16.3 million followers.

Taken by photographer Andrea Hanks, the festive snap was accompanied with the caption: "Merry Christmas from President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. @realDonaldTrump & @FLOTUS are seen December 10, in their official 2020 Christmas portrait, on the Grand staircase of the White House in Washington, D.C."

Why? Well, as reported by The Independent, those who believe the photo has been doctored are referring back to a picture showing Donald Trump alongside Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall at Winfield House in June 2019 - in which, Trump appears to be wearing an identical tux and pulling the exact same pose.

"They even lie ON A CHRISTMAS CARD. here's the pic they photo shopped Donnie from," wrote Twitter user Angie Pike.

Another Twitter user who pointed out the alleged edit was Frank Verderosa, who wrote: "What a lovely photo (shop). Was Donald lifted out of a photo from this same meeting?"
