A Walmart employee who was held at gunpoint in Mississippi has since come out and said that the terrifying incident will not deter her from returning to work.

The horrific ordeal occurred at 5:40PM on Wednesday (December 21), when a gun-wielding perpetrator came into the Mississippi Walmart store and held team leader Jessica Redfern at gunpoint.

Shortly afterward, police came into the building and fatally shot the attacker, who remains unidentified, per The Daily Mail.

Jessica was seen trembling and terrified as the perpetrator held the firearm to her head, though it was unclear exactly why the unnamed woman was holding her at gunpoint.

In the alarming video, the gunwoman can be heard shouting: "Get a news anchor in here now!"

One of the shoppers present during the ordeal stated: ''We barely got in, people were running out and people were screaming 'get out' to me and my cousin. So we ran out and it was just horrifying and then we heard the gunshot."

Footage of the incident can be seen below - warning, some people will find the video upsetting:

Local police chief Nick McLendon made a statement regarding the incident, stating: "'It's devastating for all parties involved - the officers, everybody that was involved in this situation. You know, with the Christmas season coming, mental health is a big deal because of the stress involved in the Christmas season."

The shocking incident comes one month after several Walmart employees were gunned down in a store in Virginia. That shooting saw a gunman walk into a break room and fatally shoot six people, according to ABC News.

Following the Mississippi incident, Walmart employee Jessica has since come out and stated that the ordeal wouldn't be deterring her from working at the store.
