Police broke up a sex party involving 81 adults in France on Friday (January 29).

Some 81 adults flouted COVID-19 lockdown restrictions to attend the gathering in Paris, reports The Independent.

Currently, there is a curfew in place across a number of France's largest cities to try and curb the spread of coronavirus.

Watch this video of police dispersing a crowded party in Los Angeles in the midst of the pandemic:

Officers arrived to break up the sex party, which took place in a large warehouse, at approximately 9 pm.

There, they discovered 11 people loitering in the car park and disregarding social distancing. All 11 were fined €135 ($162) for breaking the legal curfew, which prohibits movement between the hours of 6pm and 6am.

Three people, believed to be the organizers of the social gathering, were arrested soon after the police raid. A total of 81 people were caught red-handed at the so-called "libertine party" and were all subsequently fined.

Local magistrates sitting in an emergency session granted permission for sound and lighting equipment to be confiscated, along with alcohol.

Per The Independent, a police spokesperson commented on the arrests by stating:

"The event was in breach of the curfew, and there were also problems with masks and social distancing.

"Those involved in the libertine party cooperated with the police, and there was no resistance to the police."

This incident comes not long after a hot tub party in England was raided and shut down by police. Officers from Gosport in Hampshire were alerted to the illegal party, but when they arrived at the scene, the host attempted to deny all knowledge of the ongoing pandemic.

A spokesperson on Twitter said that the person was almost arrested after they refused to give their name to the police.

In a statement issued on Twitter, a spokesperson for the Gosport police wrote: "REPORTED! Last night persons were reported for breaching COVID-19 regulations, after holding a hot tub party in the back garden.

"One occupant claimed they were unaware of the global pandemic, and he was almost arrested after refusing to provide his details! #WeAreInThisTogether."

Police raided another gathering in Hackney in London at around 1.30 am on January 24. Per the Met Police, Chief Superintendent Roy Smith, who attended the incident, stated: "This was a serious and blatant breach of the public health regulations and the law in relation to unlicensed music events.

"Officers were forced, yet again, to put their own health at risk to deal with a large group of incredibly selfish people who were tightly packed together in a confined space - providing an ideal opportunity for this deadly virus to spread."
