We've all had a moment, most of the time in our childhoods, when we have the temptation to break the rules. The one thing you tell yourself is that you can probably get away with it, but this isn't always the case.

Last week the Chinese news outlet CGTN shared footage of one particular prank gone wrong, after the Ministry of Public Security posted the video onto social media. The surveillance footage was posted onto their social order offences account on Weibo, China's Twitter-like service, and has since gone viral.

While riding the elevator in a block of flats in Chongqing, this young boy thought it would be hilarious to urinate all over the buttons on the control panel. Unfortunately for him, karma reared its head, and the elevator malfunctioned.

After he short-circuited the entire thing with his pee, the buttons all lit up and the doors remained closed, meaning he ended up having to touch his own pee in his attempts to escape.

It hasn't been confirmed if his parents had to pay for repair damages or any further action was taken, but the ministry confirmed that he was freed some time later.

Weirdly enough, this isn't the first time this has happened in China. Last year a six-year-old from Yiwu in eastern China's Zhejiang province was injured trying to climb out of a lift that became stuck on the seventh floor, after he also urinated on the control panel. Hopefully after two incidents going viral, other young boys will put off this prank.
