Croc gloves are now actually a thing that exist
Remember back in the 2000's when the popularity of Croc shoes was at its peak? While they're not as commonly worn these days - they're still some of the best-selling footwear brands out there. And now, apparently, croc gloves are a thing - well, sort of.
Just feast your eyes on this baffling creation:
You should be aware that the gloves are not officially being sold by Crocs, and they're essentially just one guy's DIY project.
His name is Matt Benedetto and he produced the "Croc" gloves using a 3D printer in his garage.
Find out more about the process behind producing a pair of croc gloves:
Known for peddling his so-called "Unnecessary Inventions" - which is, in fact, his Instagram handle - the product designer has definitely succeeded in creating something pretty pointless.
I mean, aren't gloves supposed to keep your hands warm? Because when I'm feeling chilly, covering the coldest parts of my body in plastic generally isn't the way to go.
Evidently, that's exactly what Matt was going for - an "unnecessary invention".
Posting a photo of the croc gloves on Instagram, he wrote: "Your dad’s favorite shoes are now available for your hands. The first ever pair of Crocs Gloves feature all the best things from the shoes, including that thick foam material and safety strap. Start getting all your household chores done in style."
And plenty of Matt's followers had things to say about the invention in the comments:
"As as a dad I support these 110%," one user wrote.
"Is it weird that I'm actually interested in them?" another said.
"I would actually buy this if they were available in anywhere," wrote a third.
But not all the responses were quite so enthusiastic. In fact, some were truly appalled that the Croc - which hasn't exactly got the coolest reputation - could be transformed into a glove.
"This is where I draw the f*cking line," one user wrote.
"This shouldn't be existing. Even the feet crocs are disgusted by this abomination," another user agreed.
"How do you even close your hands with these? 😭" one person asked.
Personally, I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief that the gloves aren't official croc merchandise - and hopefully won't ever catch on.
