It's a question you've probably asked yourself at some point but you're still not sure of the answer: what would your last meal on Earth be? For many, it'd be something sentimental, like your mom's home-cooked roast dinner, or fried chicken from your favourite joint, but until you're actually in the position to make a choice, I don't think anyone could say what it definitely would be.

However, while the majority of us won't be on death row awaiting lethal injection at any point in our lives, some people will. And, luckily - or unluckily - their meal of choice has been put down on record for us to look at. So, here are the last meals of 6 serial killers.

John Wayne Gacy

After being found guilty of killing 33 boys and young men before burying them in his garden, Gacy was facing the death penalty. For his last meal alive, the murderer ordered a bucket of original recipe Kentucky Fried Chicken, french fries, 12 fried shrimp, and a pound of strawberries.

Aileen Wuornos

After being convicted of killing seven men while working as a sex-worker, Wuornos had her life put into film, with Charlize Theron portraying the murderer in the 2003 biopic "Monster" and picking up n Academy Award along the way.

Before being put to death in 2001, Wuornos kept it simple and asked for a cup of coffee.

Timothy McVeigh

McVeigh was responsible for the murder of 168 people and injured many hundreds more when he bombed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1995. The event came to be known as the Oklahoma City Bombing.

Before his death by execution in 2001, McVeigh asked for two pints of mint chocolate chip ice-cream.

Ted Bundy

Ted Bundy was arrested in 1976 and was sentenced to 15 years in prison for aggravated kidnapping and attempted criminal assault. However,  police then managed to connect him to roughly 30 murders across seven states. It took another two trials before he was convicted and sentenced to death.

Bundy chose to refuse to order his last meal before his 1989 execution. However, as part of police protocol, he was given the usual Florida death row meal of steak, eggs, hash browns, toast with butter, jelly, juice, coffee, and milk. He refused it.

Stephen Wayne Anderson

After he managed to escape from Utah State Prison, Stephen Wayne Anderson broke into the home of 81-year-old Elizabeth Lyman and fatally shot her. Police were called and he confessed to the murder. Stephen was charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of residential burglary and sentenced to death. However, while serving time, he murdered an inmate and confessed to six other killings in Las Vegas that happened prior to the murder of Lyman.

For his last meal, Anderson requested two grilled cheese sandwiches, a pint of cottage cheese, a Hominy/corn mixture, peach pie, chocolate-chip ice cream, and radishes.

Marion Albert Pruett

Marion Alber Pruett confessed to murdering five people during a killing spree in 1981. One of his victims was his wife Pamela Sue Barker, who was found brutally bludgeoned and burned to death in New Mexico. Pruett later claimed that his drug addiction drove him to be a "mad dog killer."

Prior to his 1999 execution by lethal injection, Pruett ordered a variety of different foods, including Pizza Hut stuffed crust pizza, four Burger King Whoppers, French fries, fried eggplant; fried squash, fried okra, a whole pecan pie, and three two-litre Pepsi bottles. However, he had originally considered ordering a roast duck.

While these people were undoubtedly nasty, twisted individuals, there's still something harrowing and sad about knowing these meals were the last thing they ate.
