Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is a true cult classic, with fans of the animated dark fantasy musical as captivated by the now 26-year-old film as ever.

For those who have yet to see the stop-motion flick, it tells the story of Jack Skellington, a pin-striped suit-clad skeleton from Halloween Town, who opens a portal to Christmas Town and decides to celebrate the festive holiday.

In any case, fans of the movie will be thrilled to know that Vans has announced it will be launching a sneaker collection in collaboration with the 1993 film. The announcement was made on September 9, although a release date and a set of footwear designs have yet to be seen.

But considering Van's Harry Potter-themed merch, which launched earlier this year, is made up of clothing and accessories as well as sneakers, we have reason to believe that we can expect more than just footwear with this new The Nightmare Before Christmas collaboration. So, be prepared for a range of items inspired by fan-favourite characters like Jack Skellington, Sally and Oogie Boogie.

The company recently collaborated with Japanese manga series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and the Vincent Van Gogh Museum.

Vans teased the upcoming collection with this Instagram post:

Fans of both the brand and the movie were thrilled by news of a collaboration, writing as much in response to the post.

"Are. You. Kidding. Me," one user wrote in disbelief, while another was eager to know "when will it drop?"

"This is what I wanted my while childhood and they do it now??? I’ll only get some if they have Oogie Boogie," wrote a third. And another excited fan insisted: "TAKE MY MONEY."
