A woman made some pretty bold claims about her dating requirements, and let's just say the internet's not taken too well to them.
Now, in the age of "princess treatments" and podcasts, dating has become nothing more than a chore.
It was already pretty difficult navigating the ups and downs that come with second-guessing people's intentions or having to sit through hours of dry conversations, but now, there seems to be a whole new bunch of requirements that people are throwing out there that have overcomplicated what was supposed to be a fun way to find love.
Sofia Franklyn, the host of the Sofia with an F podcast recently admitted that during her last three dates with three different men, she has asked for their bank details.
Have a look at the clip below:In the 25-second video, she says: "I’m not joking, I’ve asked the last three dudes I’ve dated for their bank account info on the first date."
Her guest, Leo Skepi, then asks for her intentions behind the request to which Franklyn replies: "I only want to date a wealthy guy that has money."
Tactful, right?
Skepi then seems to validate her reasoning, stating that she's just "trying to get to the point."
She adds: "I think, you know, I have a job. I’m very successful. So I think I have every f****** right to be like, 'Hi, are we on the same level, or am I wasting my time?'"
Unlike her guest, others were not impressed by Franklyn's confession and after the clip was posted on TikTok, thousands gathered to express their opinions on the matter.
"Podcast equipment need to be less accessible," one user wrote, while another added: "Some things we shouldn’t say at loud."
A third even blamed Skepi for his response, saying: "He thought 'I don’t judge actions, I look for intention' was so deep."
Big, fat yikes.
And the comments didn't stop there.
This user commented under the video with: "Does love and genuine connection just not exist anymore?"
"People who have money don’t usually gloat about having money or seek to be on the same level as someone," another TikToker pointed out, while a third seemingly agreed saying: "101 on how to not get a rich guy."
However, not everyone disagreed with the stance - with some actually supporting Franklyn's method to finding "the one."
"Not sure love comes in the form of a dollar bill but atleast ur straight forward," this user said while another recalled their own personal experiences: "My fiance and I are matched equally. But, if I were single, I would need that person to be on my level. I agree with her for the most part."
I mean, each to their own, right?
Hopefully Franklyn finds the (rich) man she's looking for.
