A dad has spoken out after he punched a comedian who allegedly made a vile sexual joke about his three-month-old son.

The incident, which occurred during a live performance in Alicante, Spain, has rapidly gained traction on social media.

The altercation involved Spanish comedian Jaime Caravaca, who was performing when a man suddenly approached the stage.

Before delivering a punch to Caravaca's face, the man shouted: "Those paedophilic comments about my son... say them to my face... you piece of trash... now!"

The assailant has been identified as far-right activist Alberto Pugilato. His outburst stemmed not from comments made during the show but from earlier remarks allegedly made by Caravaca online.

The controversy began when Pugilato posted a photo of himself with his young son on X, captioned "Pride and joy."

Caravaca allegedly responded in the comments, writing: "No one will be able to avoid the possibility of [your son] being gay' and that when he is older he will become sick of 'sucking black d***.'"

During the confrontation at the gig, Pugilato shouted: "What were you saying, huh? That my son was going to eat c***? He's three-months-old. Trash. Now what? Say it to my face... say it to my face now."

An unidentified man tries to interfere, to which Pugilato responds: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm just a father who is defending his child. He has made sexualising comments about my three-month-old son."

He then points to Caravaca and says: "That has its consequences", before calling him a "clown". He then smacks him in the face again and walks off stage.

In an interview with MultiCanal Radio following the incident, Pugilato expressed his distress: "I have been very uneasy, with a feeling that I have not had in my life, very unpleasant and until I have had it in front of me I have not found peace."

Caravaca has since issued an apology on X, stating: "After what happened, what was intended to be a joke was ultimately an unfortunate and not at all appropriate comment on my part. My apologies to anyone who feels affected. Let's put violence aside, and leave a good world for people to grow free."

Pugilato responded to Caravaca's apology, writing: "I accept your apology, Jaime. I defend freedom of expression in the same way that I defend the right to respond. I do not wish you any harm and I hope this helps others understand that children are sacred. All the best."

Police were called to the scene, but no arrests were made as Caravaca decided not to file a complaint.

Pugilato, a member of a self-titled music band, is also known for his involvement in far-right movements, as reported by Spanish news outlet El Mundo.

He frequently shares messages opposing illegal immigration and the LGBT community.

El Mundo also highlights that Pugilato's songs contain homophobic, xenophobic, and racist remarks. In his song 'I Swear,' the lyrics reference the Nazi imperial eagle, stating, "an iron eagle shows us the way."

With an active social media presence, Pugilato has amassed more than 30,000 followers on X. Recently, he reposted a video showing a person burning an LGBT flag and performing the Nazi salute.

In stark contrast, Caravaca is well-known in Spain for his left-wing stance and LGBT activism, characterized by his irreverent and sarcastic comedic style.
