The head of diversity at Google has been removed from his position - but not fired - after the discovery of his anti-semitic blog post.

Kamau Bobb wrote a blog post in 2007 titled "If I Were a Jew", and it featured a number of offensive comments which resurfaced this week.

The blog post reads: "If I were a Jew I would be concerned about my insatiable appetite for war and killing in defense of myself.

"Self defense is undoubtedly an instinct, but I would be afraid of my increasing insensitivity to the suffering of others."

Per CNBC, Google released a statement on Wednesday, June 2, slamming the blog post and revealing that Bobb had been removed from his position in diversity, but not the company.

"We unequivocally condemn the past writings by a member of our diversity team that are causing deep offense and pain to members of our Jewish community and our LGBTQ+ community," the statement says.

"These writings are unquestionably hurtful. The author acknowledges this and has apologized. He will no longer be part of our diversity team going forward and will focus on his STEM work."

Per Insider, this means that Bobb is now working in a STEM research role.

Google has not yet commented on why he is still working for the company, but they have been slammed on Twitter repeatedly for the blog post, which is still circulating online.

"How is the obscene, antisemitic bigot still employed there?" activist group Stop Antisemitism wrote on Twitter.

Meghan McCain also criticized Google for still employing Bobb on Wednesday's episode of The View, per The Sun.

She said: "If you're a Jewish employee of Google, I can't imagine how you feel right now.

"It's strange to me that Google, who espouses itself to be the most progressive, the most inclusive companies on planet Earth or in Silicon Valley, you have a head of diversity that if it looks like a duck, it quacks like a duck.

"It looks like you probably hate Jews or at the very least have some serious issues with your anti-Semitic rhetoric."
