Human Barbie influencer dies at 31 after 27 operations to look like doll - cops launch investigation

Brazilian influencer Barbara Jankavski, aged 31, has been found dead at a townhouse in São Paulo, Brazil, sparking an ongoing police investigation. Emergency responders were called to the scene on Sunday but were unable to revive her.

Jankavski had undergone 27 cosmetic surgeries to achieve a real-life Barbie look, spending an estimated $55,000 on procedures. She had a significant online presence with more than 55,000 followers on Instagram and had appeared in television programmes and ad campaigns.

Details of the death investigation

Police have registered the death as suspicious and are awaiting full autopsy results, The Sun reported. A female friend who had been with Jankavski earlier that day told police she had injured her eye in an accident. Authorities are also investigating the marks found on Jankavski’s body.

A few weeks prior to her death, she posted a selfie video on Instagram showing her blackened, bloodshot eyes from a recent operation. In the video, she joked, “Scarring is almost invisible.”

Reports indicate that she was found lying on her back, wearing only underwear, and showing visible injuries.

The transformation and online fame

Jankavski, known as “Boneca Desumana” or “Inhuman Doll,” gained notoriety for her extreme cosmetic surgeries, which included multiple rhinoplasties, liposuction on her abdomen and legs, and breast and buttock augmentations.

Her transformation captivated many, though it also sparked concern among some of her followers. Despite her shocking changes, Jankavski was open about her surgeries and even shared her recovery processes with her audience.

Her death has left her followers devastated. One fan wrote, “I can’t believe it. I loved you so much. Rest in peace.” Another tribute read, “I hope God receives you with open arms. I can’t believe you’ve gone. You lived a little bit of the life you loved, and that comforts us a bit.”

The tragic loss follows similar incidents involving other influencers in Brazil, including Fernanda Maroca and Hsieh Youxin, adding to growing concerns about the risks associated with extreme cosmetic procedures.

Jankavski’s passing has left many unanswered questions, and her fans continue to mourn her sudden death.
