Knife rampage in Paris park leaves at least one dead

Per the Independent, French police have shot and killed a man in a grocery store car park near Paris, following a knife attack.

The incident allegedly took place close to the Hautes-Bruyères State Park in Villejuif, according to the Prefecture de Police.

Law enforcement have reported that at least three people were stabbed in the suburb, before police were able to neutralise the attacker.

Local media have said that one of the victims has died, while two others have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The attack took place at around 2pm local time, and the victims were allegedly chosen at random.

Videos of the attack have been making the rounds on social media, showing armed police surrounding and shooting the attacker in a Carrefour car park.

The clip appears to show the attacker, who has not yet been publicly identified, wearing what seems to be an explosive vest.

Citizens have been advised to stay away from the area near to the Hautes-Bruyères park.
