A lip reader has revealed what French President Emmanuel Macron’s wife Brigitte said mere moments after she was caught on camera appearing to slap her husband.
A fiery moment between Macron and his wife Brigitte was caught on camera as they landed in Hanoi, Vietnam, and now a professional lip reader has revealed exactly what was said in the tense exchange—right after she shoved him in the face.
Yep, you read that right.
The footage shows 72-year-old Brigitte placing both hands on Macron’s face and giving him a firm push—just seconds after the aircraft door opened. Macron, who looked pretty stunned at first, quickly tried to play it cool once he realized cameras were rolling.
A lip reader told The Express, “As the aircraft door opens, President Macron is seen turning toward Brigitte. In an unexpected moment, she pushes him in the face.”
That’s when things got icy—fast.
After a very awkward “Hi” from Macron, he motioned to Brigitte with “Let’s go,” trying to move things along. But she wasn’t having it.

The lip reader continued, “He thanks the pilot and waves at the cameras, trying to recover the public-facing image.” But just steps later, Brigitte gave him the cold shoulder again, refusing his offered arm and instead clinging to the railing.
Then came the real burn: she muttered “Dégage, espèce de loser,” which translates to, “Stay away, you loser.”
Ouch.
Apparently, Macron tried to smooth things over with “Essayons, s’il te plaît” (“Let’s try, please?”). Her response? Just one word: “Non.”
And with that, Macron's final lip-read line—“Je vois,” meaning “I see”—said it all.

The French president's office initially tried to deny the clip was real, but later confirmed its authenticity. Macron, 47, attempted to laugh it off, telling reporters on Monday, “We are squabbling and, rather, joking with my wife.” He also slammed critics for turning it into “a sort of geo-planetary catastrophe.”
“People are saying all sorts of nonsense. Everyone needs to calm down,” he added.
The couple has always been in the spotlight, mostly due to their controversial love story—Brigitte was Emmanuel’s high school teacher when they met in 1993. He was 15; she was 39 and also the mom of one of his classmates. They’ve been married since 2007.
Now, this latest public bust-up is sparking fresh speculation about what’s really going on behind closed doors.
