Two first-time parents in Australia have won the cash equivalent of 60 years' worth of free Dominos pizza after their son's name won a competition held by the pizza chain.

To put the prize into context, that's the equivalent of a $14 ($10.65 USD) pizza every month for 60 years.

The prize was won by Clementine Oldfield and Anthony Lot whose son, Dominic Julian Lot, was born at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney earlier this month.

Dominoes promised to hand out $10,800 AUD ($8,200 USD) to the first parents of a Dominic or a Dominique born on the pizza chain's 60th anniversary (December 9).

In an interview with A Current Affair, new dad Anthony said: "My mother sent us a screenshot of the promo on Tuesday and we laughed it off thinking well that's kind of funny because he's coming today on Tuesday, not on Wednesday."

However, little did the couple know that Dominic was in no rush being born, and after a staggering 72-hour labor, made his grand entrance into the world in the early hours of Wednesday morning last week.

The couple had already chosen the name prior to discovering the competition and had picked it as soon as they discovered Clementine was having a boy, saying: "It's been one of my favorite names since I was a little kid.

"We both liked it and we struggled with finding names we both liked, to be honest."

CEO of Domino's Pizza Australia and New Zealand, Nick Knight, told the Daily Mail Australia: "We have been blessed with 60 incredible years as a company, with 37 of those here in Australia.

"We wouldn't be celebrating this milestone without the support of our amazing customers and their faith in us to continue delivering delicious meals for great value.

"What better way for our Domino's family to mark this occasion and to share the joy of the next 60 years than with a truly unique birthday gift for someone's own bundle of joy - from our family to yours!"

Prior to being awarded the prize, the couple showed Dominoes their son's birth certificate.

They are now settling into family life together and dad Anthony said of his newborn son: "He's pretty chill. He's really sweet, like his mom."
