An outraged passenger has claimed that a cruise line dropped her luggage into the ocean.

Lindsey Hargesheimer, from Denver, Colorado, took to TikTok to explain how a blunder made by a Celebrity Cruises ship led to her joining forces with a random stranger to help recover her belongings.

The wedding photographer said she boarded the floating vessel in Amsterdam with her family, but was left devastated when she was the only one not to receive her luggage.

"I'm very distraught about everything that has been going on," she said in a 10-minute video on social media. "...I am on a Celebrity Cruise line and it left the Amsterdam port yesterday and as I was getting on, the rest of my family members got their bag and I didn't get [mine]."

Fast forward and the content creator decided to ring up the ship's services and find out what went wrong.

"They couldn't find it," she said, noting that her AirTag wasn't working.

However later, when Lindsey turned her phone on, she immediately got a call stating that someone from the Amsterdam port had pulled her case "out of the ocean... out of the canal."

Someone had discovered her details inside of the bag and called her to let her know that they'd retrieved her personal items.

As you can imagine, this is a pretty depressing call for someone who was supposed to be vacationing for two weeks, especially when the contents of the bag included clothing, medications, supplements, makeup, toiletries, camera equipment, and family jewelry.

Things got worse as staff aboard the cruise also failed to compensate her, or even provide tools for the rest of her trip, with the photographer only receiving a T-shirt, roll-on deodorant, toothbrush, and toothpaste to keep her going.

"This is absolutely unacceptable..." she continued in the clip. "The [staff] all realize how f****** ridiculous it is because they don't believe me when I tell them."

She added: "I personally believe the Celebrity Cruise Line have not handled this situation well at all. I don't feel taken care of for a mistake that they made. Like, you dropped my bag in the ocean! It is one thing if it was left at port but you dropped my bag in the ocean and didn't report it."

Now the TikToker is just waiting for the arrival of her bag, though she's not looking forward to it.

"I have no idea what I'm expecting. I have no idea if I can even use anything that is in my bag... I have nothing," she said, visibly getting emotional.

In a follow-up video, Lindsey gave her followers an update on the situation - and it wasn't all good news, but there was a silver lining.

She said she wouldn't be able to get her bags back by the end of her trip and instead, she would have to return to the port in Amsterdam and assess all the damage there.

"At this point, I've honestly just accepted that everything in that bag is not able to be salvaged in any way shape or form," she said. "[Plus], it's going to be sitting at the port for another 10 days getting even more disgusting."

However, in the meantime, she was upgraded on her original compensation and she managed to grab herself two outfits and some personal items.

She was also given $400 credit and the assurance that all of her damaged goods would be replaced once she figured out what to do with it.

"I don't have it in writing but that is what I've been told," she concluded.

Hopefully, the cruise line will follow through on their promise, or if they don't, I'm sure we'll be hearing about it on social media.
