If you're a child of the Nineties you'll be well versed in the seminal sitcom that is
Friends. And it's almost wholly responsible for why many of us Millennials had unrealistic expectations of adulthood - I mean, how could a group of friends, all of whom worked in relatively low-paying jobs, afford
that apartment in one of the most expensive cities in the world? And this, as well as several other plot holes have been perplexing a new generation of late, as all 10 seasons dropped on Netflix in the UK last month.
Many of those who are experiencing the seminal television show for the first time have been taking to Twitter to point out some of the bigger inconsistencies. Let's run through a few of them, shall we?
1. Chandler and Rachel forgetting each other
In the pilot episode, Rachel Green comes into the Central Perk coffee house, having just called off her wedding. While Monica and Ross recognise her, Chandler doesn't. But in later episodes it's revealed that Chandler attended Geller thanksgivings and college parties with Rachel. In fact, in one flashback Rachel and Chandler are seen kissing whilst they are both in college.

2. The age of Ross
In the second episode of the ninth season, Ross is in hospital after injuring his hand attempting to punch Joey. He tells him that his birthday is on the 18th October. But in season seven he told Gunther that his birthday is in December.
And as fans have also pointed out, in season three Ross says that he is 29, but he also claims to be 29 in the fourth season. That means that Ross has stayed 29 throughout his relationship and breakup with Rachel, his wedding to Emily, and through three thanksgivings. Now, that's some Benjamin Button stuff.

3. Rachel's birthday
In the seventh season of the sitcom, Rachel tells Gunther that her birthday is in May. This was clearly confusing to fans because she previously said that she was an Aquarius - which you can only be if your date of birth falls on January or February.

4. The number of women Ross has slept with
In the first season, Ross tells Joey and Chandler that his ex-wife, Carol, is the only woman he has slept with, making Rachel the second. However, in the seventh season, after Ross accuses Chandler of sleeping with the cleaning lady in university, Chandler reveals that it's actually Ross who did it. Now, I can imagine it's pretty difficult to forget a sexual encounter, especially when you maintain that you've only ever slept with two people for several years. C'mon Friends.

Although it may be difficult, don't let these irritating inconsistencies ruin re-watching Friends for you. I mean, it's worth it in the end for
all that Nineties nostalgia.
