It seems that in this day and age at least, it's more common for pranks to go wrong than right. First, there was the girl who killed her boyfriend by firing a gun at an encyclopedia he was holding, then, there was the man who ended up paying an eye-watering amount of money for a un-funny prank in which he kicked a woman, and now there is this.

19-year-old Jordan, otherwise known as Rodney, has gone viral on Twitter after he told his girlfriend that he had kissed another girl, thinking it was a funny April Fool's joke. Rodney thought that he would simply wind his girlfriend up a bit, before confessing his undying love for her.

So, taking to his phone to begin the prank, he messaged her, saying: "I'm just gonna be honest with you... I kissed another girl yesterday."

Of course, his girlfriend initially reacted in a panic, asking; "Your [sic] playing right? How? When? Why? Where?"

Rodney decided to ignore his girlfriend, leading to her revealing that she had also slept with someone else, something which came as a surprise to him.

"I was just trying to do a regular April fool’s prank and it backfired," he said.

"She said she was at a party the night before and got drunk and apparently slept with some guy and her best friend slept with some guy too in the same room so I think that was their intentions.

Made me feel like complete s**t. I’m questioning if I even wanna be in a relationship anymore now, and we have separated and have not spoken since.

At this point, there is nothing left to say. No, she hasn’t said anything. But I think she is probably mad at all the attention she would be getting if people knew who she was."

His girlfriend went on to write:

"I don’t think we’re good for each other so this time we are really done. Have a good life Rodney. I was drunk and one thing led to another and it just happened."

After Rodney accused her of lying, she said:

"I wish I was…when it was over I started thinking of you and us and how or if I was going to tell you, I’m so sorry. I’m sorry Rodney it really was an accident and I hope we can work through this."

Rodney posted the screenshots on Twitter and they quickly went viral, with the tweet receiving over 25,000 retweets and 60,000 likes.

The hapless lover captioned the post "April Fools is fu***ng cancelled."

Plenty of people were focusing on his final response.

However, one user perfectly summed up the entire ordeal, saying:

Jordan says that he will now aim to "make sure I don't get cheated on again."

So, while it may have been his prank that backfired, it turns out that Rodney had a pretty lucky escape and got away from a cheater.

Our exes are our exes for a reason. I mean, why be with someone who gives you grief, or is flat-out crazy, when you could happily be single? Nearly all of us have horror stories about relationships past, where our former lovers did some seriously questionable things that either had us running for the hills, or regretting that we didn't call it quits sooner.  1. Wow

"I had a buddy who's ex, upon breaking up, raced him back to his OWN house, got there first, and then proceeded to lock herself in HIS room for several days. I don't even think she talked much while there. She would just sneak out at night time to use the bathroom. Buddy's kind-hearted, Christian parents fed her by sliding flat foods like bologna and pancakes under the door."

2. That friend is horrible!

"I was in the process of a divorce. Not yet finalised. I was divorcing because of [my ex's] cheating. There was this somewhat vague, unclear rule that if I were to have sex with her during this time it could constitute as a reconciliation. In any case, ex is still living in the apartment with me. I get home from work and she starts to seduce me. To me this seems pretty weird as she hadn't wanted to do anything sexual with me for months. I know I shouldn't do it but she stripped down to nothing and gets really physical. Basically she strips down and starts trying to push me into the bedroom and pull my clothes off. I think for a minute, contemplating what I should do. Fortunately, I decide to walk out of the apartment. When I open the door one of her friends was standing right there with a camera. The plan was to get me in the bedroom and then have this friend film us (without my knowledge) so that she could say we reconciled (using video evidence) and could possibly then be entitled to alimony."

 3. This is just weird

"My ex, when I was 20, went to my parents and told them everything we did in bed. My dad later pointed out we have some of the same tastes when it comes to sex. Then it just got awkward. I'm glad I have a chill family though."

4. 10/10 for the stick 

"I once broke up with a girl over the phone. At that time she was in Mexico City (working) and me in Michigan. She was living in California originally. She immediately caught the very next flight to MI and said 'You're not breaking up with me.'

"At one point she hit me with a stick.

"We only had a few dates."

5. Ouch

"My ex reopened serveral credit cards that we had jointly but had paid off and closed before divorce, somehow she opened them back in my name and charged them to the max, then moved out of state and stopped paying her car payment. All of these things ended up getting reported to my credit years later and pretty much ruined any chance I have at decent credit for the next 7-10 years in the US. I've been divorced and lived outside the US for 8 years now and only recently found out about all these charges. I know all this can be corrected eventually but the hassle of explaining things to several credit companies and collection agencies is a major pita."

6. That escalated quickly 

"Not exactly an ex, because we only went on three dates. After the 3rd date, I left to go back to London as an au-pair. The guy had his sister send me a traditional African wedding dress to my host family, and a letter stating that she was so happy for us and hoped I would visit her in Mali. I noped the f*ck out. He then had his friends and brother call me and berate me for breaking up with him, had them say I could not possibly do that because his parents had already bought the plane tickets to come see me before the wedding, and then tried to stick me with the costs for said tickets.

"I changed my cell phone number and had the host family say that I had gone back home and they had no forwarding address."

7. A+ for creativity

"I found it more hilarious than fucked up, but mine sent me a Happy Mothers Day card because she said I was the biggest mother f***er in the world."

 8. Seriously 

"Ex-wife, moved out while I was at basic, took all the spoons in the kitchen. Serving spoons, tea spoons, soup spoons, even measuring spoons. Left all knives, and forks. Honestly, who does that?"

9. How irritating 

"Put me on the mailing and call list for every church group she could find. For two months my phone was blowing up with calls from churches and evangelicals, they wanted money, they wanted to send me bibles and pamphlets. The ones that had my address did send me bibles and pamphlets. Took a lot of patient explaining, and occasionally some frustrated yelling to get myself removed from everything."

10. Nightmare

"This is my significant other's ex. She threw herself down a flight of stairs and called the cops to say he beat her up. She would hit herself and call the cops almost weekly, so my partner installed a GPS tracker on his car to try and prove his whereabouts during the times she was accusing him of the abuse.

The absolute worst though was probably when she told him he could come over Christmas morning to see their then 2 year old daughter open her gifts only to call the police and have him arrested in front of their daughter."

Get ready to raise your eyebrows, because a woman has taken to TikTok where she has claimed that her boyfriend cheated on her... with his own mother.

Relationships can be tough, I get it. But when the going gets tough is when you need to commit yourself to work on the issues plaguing yourself and your partner.

Sadly, not everyone shares this desire to work on their relationships and instead turn to a life of infidelity... which is a fancier way of saying cheating.

Cheating is something that we all hear stories about, but only when we are involved in the situation is it clear how hurtful it can be.

What could make this scenario even worse, you might ask? What if your partner was to cheat on you, with their own mother?

Incest is illegal in the vast majority of places around the world and it's not something that most of us will ever consider, but one guy allegedly took his interest to a new level.

Taking to TikTok, Emma, who goes by the handle @mingus.mingus, shared a five-second video where she stared into the camera with a text overlay that read: "Me realizing that my ex cheating on me with his own mother is something that I should probably go to therapy for and not something that I just joke with my friends about."

Naturally, people were left pretty shocked by the allegation, as comments poured in reading: "Please explain I’m losing sleep over this post."

The video has been viewed over 5.5 million times, but sadly there has been no follow-up explanation so we're all left scratching our heads.

It's not the first time that Emma has teased this story. In a November 2021 video, she revealed that she split with her ex after he had sex with his mother and biological sister.

"I didn’t know until after we broke up. and he told me bc he thought it'll make me want to stay lol," she wrote, before adding in the comments: "I can assure everyone he was NOT groomed or assaulted. If he was I wouldn’t have made the TikTok. They were just weird."

Safe to say, people in the comments were pretty weirded out by this story, as one person wrote: "I desperately need to know how that conversation went down how do you casually bring that up and WHY would he think that would make you stay."

A second person summed up how most of us probably look right now by writing: "An emoji cannot express the face I just made."

Let's just all go and have a quiet sit down and attempt to get this story out of our imagination.
