For many kids growing up in the nineties, the Crash Bandicoot games were a staple of our childhoods. The graphics were (at the time) cutting-edge and the animation was stunning, the gameplay was simple yet addictive, and every level was packed with secrets and challenges.

But now, according to a recent and as-yet-unverified leak, we could well be seeing Crash make a leap from consoles to mobile, with a new mobile game that's (allegedly) in development.

The leak was first uncovered by two Twitter users this week, who go by the handles @jumpbuttoncb and @motwera respectively. Doing a bit of internet sleuthing, the two Crash fans managed to discover a link to sign up for the game through via Facebook.

By clicking on a link, they were taken to a page explaining that the game, Crash Bandicoot Mobile, isn’t ready, but that development is currently ongoing.
The page reads: "Thank you for your interest in this new game! Unfortunately, this game is not yet available but we would appreciate a moment of your time to complete a short survey in order to help improve its development. Your responses will be anonymous and no personal data about you is collected or processed."

Although this leak is unofficial, it seems to confirm statements made by Activision Blizzard president and chief operating officer Coddy Johnson said, who told Gamespot:  A third of our business is on mobile already. We have the largest mobile gaming presence in the west. So we want to build on that leadership position."

He added: "The AAA kinds of games we make are ready to work on mobile because of the improving compute and graphics capability [of the mobile devices."

So there you have it: we'll just have to wait and see whether or not this game really is coming out in the future. Fingers crossed!
