Following on from the exciting news that cross-platform play is now available on PlayStation 4, one of the most popular games in existence, Red Dead Redemption 2, is being released for PC.

The news was broken today by gaming giant Rockstar, following the same format of Grand Theft Auto, which was initially available for a console-only period before eventually being released for PC.

If you haven't seen it yet, this is the official trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2:

The studio has committed to a November 5 release date of the PC version of Red Dead Redemption.

Those who preorder through the Rockstar Games Launcher, which will be available from October 5, will also have access to special bonuses. So if it's a game you've eagerly been waiting to play in this format, it's a good idea to get in on the action early.

While only time will tell how it compares to its console counterparts, hopefully, the PC version of the game won't lose the spec on the graphics players have come to love about Red Dead Redemption 2.

But Rockstar did say that there would be graphical and technical improvements.

According to Rockstar, the PC version of the wild western game will contain "new bounty hunting missions, gang hideouts, weapons, and more."

It will also be interesting to see how players modify the game, as they have done with GTA, which, although not officially supported by Rockstar, has created some interesting experiences with, for example, the addition of Iron Man.

Needless to say, the news was met with much excitement on social media.

Twitter user Danny Kovner wrote: "Aww Yeah! #RedDeadRedemption2 is coming to the PC!"

"Can't wait to see the crazy mods" added

Rockstar is scheduled to provide more details about the release next week.
