A woman has revealed that she's in a relationship with the brother of the man who brutally murdered her sister.
Jessica Aylward's older sister, Rebecca, tragically died at the age of 15 after she was killed by her ex-boyfriend Joshua Davies in October 2010.
Davies smiled at one of his friends and told them: "The time has come," before luring Rebecca into woods near their homes in South Wales and battering her to death with a rock, according to The Guardian.
It's been reported that the suspect - who was aged 16 at the time - carried out the act after making a sickening bet with his friends that he would kill Rebecca in exchange for a free fried breakfast, per Daily Mail.
Davies later messaged that friend after the murder, writing: "Don't say anything but you may just owe me a breakfast."
Jessica was 13 when her sister's lifeless body was discovered in Aberkenfig, Bridgend.
Now aged 27, she admitted that she has been dating Davies' brother Jordan. It has been speculated that the relationship has caused a rift with her mother, Sonia.
The couple share two children and have been together for at least six years. Jessica confirmed the news to The Sun, sharing: “I am with Jordan, who is Josh’s brother and we have a family together... I don't have any contact with my mother."
Jessica praised her partner in a birthday message on Instagram, which read: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Happy birthday to my Jordy who gave me two beautiful babies, thank you for everything you always do for us. We love you to the moon and back TWICE!!"
She also shared a post for Father's Day, penning that Jordan is the "best Daddy my babies could have ever asked for! You do an amazing job every single day and we are so lucky to have you".
Davis was convicted in July 2011 and jailed for life with a minimum term of 14 years.
He initially blamed a friend for the murder but later confessed to the crime to a probation officer, saying: “I did it, nobody else was involved. I am totally responsible," as cited by The Sun.
Rebecca's distraught mom has campaigned for her daughter's murderer to stay behind bars after his jail sentence expires next year.
“Joshua’s sentence is shorter than Rebecca’s life – it’s an insult. That cowardly monster planned to kill my beautiful daughter in the most horrific way possible – he should never be released," Sonia told The Mirror.
Sonia described Rebecca as a beautiful soul who "could have achieved anything but one evil individual decided to rob her of that," adding: “I can’t celebrate special occasions without Rebecca and I have an empty chair at the dinner table because she should be here with us enjoying her life. A piece of my heart is missing.”
