A group of pigeons has been spotted in Las Vegas mysteriously sporting Cowboy hats, and as a result, animal rescue organizations are expressing concerns that someone may be gluing the headgear onto the birds.

Footage of the pigeons going about their business - Stetson hats and all - has been posted all over social media.

Take a look at this bizarre footage featuring the hat-clad pigeons:

In the background of one of the video, originally posted to Facebook by Bobby Lee, who is filming from his car, a man can be heard saying: "These birds have hats on bro. 'The s*** you see in my neighborhood."

While the animals don't appear to be troubled by the mini hats as they walk around in an empty car park, their headgear is noticeably tilted and mysteriously does not move or fall off as the birds peck around.

The fact that the hats remain fixed on their heads, seems to indicate that they have been glued on.

Per Fox5 Vegas, a local animal rescue and pigeon advocacy group known as Lofty Hopes has been expressing concerns about the detrimental impact the hats could be having on the pigeons.

"At first, I was like, oh my God that's cute!" Mariah Hillman - who runs the animal advocacy organization - said to Fox5 Vegas. "Then, I was like, wait a minute – how did they get those hats on there?"

"Did they glue them? And what does that mean for them?” Hillman continued. "Is it something that's going to impede their flight or attract predators?“

The identity of the individual or group of individuals placing hats on the birds is still unknown, however, Hillman has informed the publication that Lofty Hopes is on an ongoing mission to track down the birds and remove their hats.
