We all know Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston are mortal enemies - like Arya and Cersei, Kylo and Rey, and Mario and Bowser. Okay, maybe they're not mortal enemies, but at the very least, it has to be awkward when they're in the same room together.
Not familiar with the whole situation? Don't worry. I majored in Celebrity Dating History in college. Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were married for five years, and got divorced in 2005. Rumor has it Angelina "stole" Brad away, while they were shooting Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Brangelina started dating, and eventually got married, but then they got divorced too, just last year. Now Brad, 54, has been spotted dating Jennifer Lawrence and the 21-year-old actress who played a teenage Angelina Jolie in Maleficent. And when he picks up girls, he goes by "William."

At this year's Golden Globes Awards, the two ex-es had to face each other, in a hilariously awkward moment. Jennifer Aniston took the stage to present an award to comedy legend Carol Burnett, and guess who was sitting directly in her line of sight? Maleficent, Mrs. Smith, the original Tomb Raider, Angelina Jolie. While Jennifer speaks, Angelina averts her eyed, glued to her phone, or a particularly interesting wine stain on the tablecloth. Meanwhile, Dakota Johnson stares at Angelina, riveted. The photo of her priceless expression went viral, with many people saying "We are all Dakota." How will Angelina react?
[[twitterwidget||https://youtu.be/he8KNAiJwqE?t=3m49s]]
On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Dakota didn't deny she stole a glance at Angelina. "But so is Armie’s [Hammer] wife," the actress pointed out. "I’m not the only one. Elizabeth [Chambers] is very blatantly looking at her. She’s like, ‘What is she going to do?’ And I was trying to be sly about it." (Way to throw Elizabeth under the bus, Dakota!)
However, Angelina's salty expression didn't have her full attention. Dakota goes on to say that if you look at the angle of her eyes, she's actually looking past Angelina, at a different table. And who was sitting at that table, out of all the big celebrities at the event? The kids from Stranger Things.
"There was the actual kids table, which was the Stranger Things table," explained Dakota. "And I really love Stranger Things, so I tried to send my friend a—which is the thing that I hate the most, when people are in restaurants, when they try to take a sneaky picture of you like this... But I was trying to take a video of these kids. They’re children, I know, and I was zooming in but then I also accidentally caught maybe Ridley Scott asleep. But then I think maybe he was just looking at his phone. But it looked like he was asleep."
It must be a surreal experience to attend the Golden Globes and be surrounded by movie stars and television stars (asleep or awake). Well, Dakota can try to cover her tracks, but I don't believe it. When Jennifer Aniston made a speech in front of Angelina Jolie, there's only one thing everybody was looking at (and it wasn't Ridley Scott sleeping).
Okay, so you remember at the Golden Globes earlier this month when Jennifer Aniston presented an award to Carol Burnett and stood directly in front of Angelina Jolie? The moment was immortalised forever when – like all of us who still have a bit of a high school mentality about us – Dakota Johnson snuck a glance at Angelina to see how she was reacting to Jen's speech.
It was a delicious moment of petty desire for drama, but nothing really surmounted from it and everyone seemed to keep their cool. But still, the pictures of the awkward encounter are pretty great.

It's hilariously awks because rumour has it that Angelina "stole" Brad Pitt from Jennifer back in 2005. Jennifer had been with the actor for five years, but after getting to know each a little too well on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith, "Brangelina" happened. Jennifer divorced Brad, who later got married to Angelina, and they eventually split as well in 2016 after 11 years of being together.
So naturally, a person's "Ooh this could be interesting" radar would detect potential drama in any scenario where they are forced to be in the same room, and that's why we are all Dakota.

But the Fifty Shades of Grey actress has only now spoken out about her not-so-discreet peek at Angelina Jolie during the awards ceremony. During her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, she didn't even try to deny the sneaky side-eye she shot at Angelina. Fallon asked her about the look, and while confirming that she did purposefully turn to glance over, she added that she wasn't the only culprit.
"But so is Armie’s [Hammer] wife! I’m not the only one," she insisted while pointing at the picture. "Elizabeth [Chambers] is like very blatantly looking at her. She’s like, ‘What is she going to do?’ And I was trying to be sly about it."

The 28-year-old also tried to convince the host that she was actually looking at something else entirely. "Truthfully, I don’t think that I was really actually looking at her cause if you look really closely at the angle of my eyes, they’re kind of like," she motioned away from the image out, "over here."
And when Fallon asked what it was that she was actually looking at, Dakota proved she was all of us yet again by admitting that she was fangirling over the Stranger Things actors.
"There was the actual kids' table, which was the Stranger Things table," she said. "And I really love Stranger Thingsso much, like so much." She then went on to say that she tried to send her friend a "sneaky picture" of them, which – as everyone knows – never goes unnoticed.
"Like they’re children, I know, and I was like zooming in but then I also accidentally caught maybe Ridley Scott asleep. But then I think maybe he was just looking at his phone. But it looked like he was asleep."
LOL. And it turns out she wasn't kidding – Fallon had the footage and played it during the interview. Watch the whole thing here, it's a right laugh:

We truly are all Dakota.
Last night the Golden Globe Awards honored outstanding achievements in American film and television. The big winners were blah, blah, blah - nobody cares. All everyone cares about is the celebrity gossip! For example, did you know that Ewan McGregor thanked his ex-wife and his new girlfriend in his acceptance speech? Or that Millie Bobby Brown and Ariana Grande became totes BFF's 4 life? Or that one actress didn't wear all black attire to support Times Up, an initiative combating sexual harassment in the workplace? The Golden Globe Awards are probably the least interesting part about the Golden Globe Awards.

But the most hilariously awkward moment had to be when Jennifer Aniston presented an award to Carol Burnett, while Angelina Jolie was sitting directly in front of the stage. In case you don't remember your celebrity relationship history, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston - aka "Bradifer" - were married for five years. But unfortunately, it didn't last. In 2005, they got divorced, and rumor had it Angelina 'stole' Brad from Jennifer while shooting Mr. & Mrs. Smith. In 2014, Brad married Angelina Jolie - or we called them, "Brangelina" - but unfortunately, that relationship didn't last either. In 2017, Brangelina got divorced, and now there aren't any cute portmanteaus. Brad doesn't even know what to call himself these days - reportedly, he introduces himself to women as "William."

Whether you're Team Angelina, Team Jennifer or Team Who Gives A Crap, you'll appreciate this classic photo. While Jennifer makes her speech, Angelina totally ignores her, Mean Girls-style, looking everywhere but the stage. (Maybe she's machine gun swiping right on Tinder?) Prettay, prettay awkward.
Meanwhile, Dakota Johnson looks on from across the room, and her expression pretty much says it all. Like all of us, she stares at Angelina, riveted, waiting to see if Maleficent will betray her poker face and react to Jennifer. Obviously, this drama is far more interesting than those 50 Shades of Gray movies.

The priceless image got a lot of attention on Twitter. Many users hoped the ex-es would join forces against Brad, perhaps becoming Jen-gilina or Ang-ifer.

Others pointed out how funny it was that Carol Burnett got a standing ovation - meaning Angelina Jolie "basically had to give one to Jennifer Aniston too." Finally, some revenge for the scorned woman, if you believe Angelina really "stole" Brad from her, back in the day.

I'm not sure where Brad Pitt is in this photo - probably hiding underneath a table, drinking whiskey from a flask. Or perhaps he ducked out of the room to introduce himself to some more single ladies as "William." Either way, too bad he's not visible or the awkwardness would have been even more amazing.
Actually, according to the latest rumors, Brad Pitt dated Jennifer Lawrence for a while, and then he dated Ella Purnell, the 21-year-old actress who played Angelina Jolie's character as a teenager in Maleficent. So, you know what to do, Oscars! Sit Aniston, Jolie, Pitt, Purnell and Lawrence all right next to each other, and put a camera on them for the whole show. I mean, what else are we going to do, pay attention to who wins the awards? I don't think so.
As the 20th anniversary of Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt's breakup approaches, the actress is looking back at the dramatic period when her ex-husband was romantically linked to his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star, Angelina Jolie.
The breakup, which made headlines worldwide, sparked a media frenzy and ignited what became known as the "love triangle" era, a chapter Aniston hasn’t forgotten.

In an interview with Vanity Fair published on August 11, 2025, Aniston discussed the intense media scrutiny that followed her separation from Pitt. Reflecting on the tabloids' portrayal of the situation, she said, “It was such juicy reading for people. If they didn’t have their soap operas, they had their tabloids.”
She continued, "It’s a shame that it had to happen, but it happened. And boy did I take it personally.”
At the time of their split, Aniston was navigating the fallout while Pitt quickly moved on with Jolie. In fact, the same year they parted ways, Pitt and Jolie posed for a now-infamous photo shoot for W Magazine, showing the couple in a domestic scene, depicting a married life with children.
The shoot was a pivotal moment in their relationship, which eventually led to their marriage in 2014. After two years, Jolie filed for divorce, sparking a lengthy legal battle.
When speaking about her emotional state during that period, Aniston explained, “Just pick yourself up by the bootstraps and keep on walking, girl.”
Aniston also recalled a 2005 interview with Vanity Fair in which she had candidly expressed her feelings about the photos of Pitt and Jolie. "The world was shocked, and I was shocked. I'd be a robot if I said I didn't feel moments of anger, of hurt, of embarrassment," Aniston said.
She also noted, "He makes his choices. He can do—whatever. We're divorced, and you can see why."
Despite the media circus, Aniston emphasized the complexity of her relationship with Pitt, stating, "I love Brad; I really love him. I will love him for the rest of my life. He's a fantastic man. I don't regret any of it, and I'm not going to beat myself up about it. We spent seven very intense years together; we taught each other a lot—about healing, and about fun. We helped each other through a lot, and I really value that. It was a beautiful, complicated relationship."
By 2008, Aniston had begun to move forward, telling Vogue, "Well, it never was that bad... I can't even remember the darkness. I mean, in the end, we really had an amicable split. It wasn't mean and hateful."
She also shared that soon after their separation, they had a "long, long conversation" and had been on good terms ever since.
Pitt, too, had spoken about his past with Aniston in 2011. In a Parade interview, he explained that he felt his marriage to Aniston was part of the reason he wasn't living the fulfilling life he desired.
He later clarified his comments, saying, "Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly."
In 2015, Aniston further discussed her feelings on the divorce during an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning. “I don't find it painful... We've exchanged good wishes and all that sort of stuff to each other, but not a constant thing,” she remarked.
She also expressed frustration over the media's obsession with their past, saying, "If the world only could just stop with the stupid, soap opera bulls**t. There's no story."

As Aniston's life moved forward, she married Justin Theroux in 2015, only to divorce in 2018. Reflecting on her relationships, Aniston noted in Elle that her marriages were "very successful" in her opinion.
She explained, "When they came to an end, it was a choice that was made because we chose to be happy, and sometimes happiness didn’t exist within that arrangement anymore.”
Despite the end of their marriage, Aniston and Pitt have remained cordial. In 2020, their brief reunion at the SAG Awards garnered plenty of attention, with Pitt joking that their encounter was likely to be "the second most important reunion of her year." He also shared, “I’ll run into Jen... She’s a good friend.”
By 2021, Aniston confirmed that there was no lingering tension between them. “It was absolutely fun,” she said, reflecting on their friendly interactions at the SAG Awards and the Fast Times at Ridgemont High virtual table read.
Aniston also put to rest rumors from 2022, particularly those suggesting that her divorce from Pitt was because of her decision not to have children. She asserted, “And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn't have a child,” explaining that the narrative surrounding their divorce was based on falsehoods.
Though Aniston’s personal life has evolved, her thoughts on her time with Pitt and Jolie remain candid, with the actress acknowledging that their past, no matter how challenging, was a formative part of her journey. And while the "love triangle" era may have dominated headlines for years, Aniston has clearly put that chapter behind her, with a focus on moving forward with grace and clarity.
The break-up and divorce of Hollywood superstars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has become an increasingly bitter and public affair. The Hollywood couple, who first hooked up on the set of the film Mr. and Mrs. Smith way back in 2005, decided to call it a day on their marriage last year for a variety of reasons.
It was believed that the straw which broke the camel's back happened on a private jet during a confrontation between Pitt and the couple's eldest son Maddox, in which it is reported that Pitt got physical with the 15-year-old. However, despite it being her who filed for the shock divorce, it appears that Jolie still harbors hope that the couple will reconcile and settle their differences, with the actress turning down a $100 million settlement which was offered to her by Pitt.
Speaking recently about the divorce, Jolie said:
"I don’t want to say very much about that, except to say it was a very difficult time and we are a family and we will always be a family, and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it... ""Many, many people find themselves in this situation. My whole family, we’ve all being through a difficult time. My focus is my children, our children... and my focus is finding this way through."We are and forever will be a family. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer."
It appears that Jolie is still struggling to move on from the shocking split, but the same can't be said for Brad. Rumors are circulating about Pitt and his way of dealing with the breakup. According to various reports, Pitt has set his sights on several women, including actress Jennifer Lawrence, who it is rumoured he has spent several nights with. However, while Jolie may not be courting men in the way Brad is courting women, it turns out one superstar has his eyes firmly set on the former Lara Croft actress.
Taking to his Instagram account yesterday, human meme and multi-award-winning rapper Drake, uploaded this hilarious image and tagged Jolie in it.
[[instagramwidget||https://www.instagram.com/p/Bcqgh5NDc4O/?taken-by=champagnepapi]]
Sitting alone at a table, Drake can be seen staring longingly into the camera and captioned the image "Stood Me Up." The rapper cheekily tagged Angelina Jolie's Instagram account in the image and it didn't go unnoticed, with plenty of people on social media picking up on Drake's sly flirting with the actress.

I mean, there's no doubt that there's an element of humor in Drake's post, but who knows, maybe we could see a hot new couple forming in the new year? Besides, it's been a while since we've had new tunes from the Toronto born rapper and it's safe to say that he makes his best music when he's gone through heartbreak, so we can probably expect a new mixtape to land sometime soon.

Aniston, 56, and Pitt, 61, tied the knot in July 2000 and enjoyed five years of marriage before announcing their separation in January 2005.
In a joint statement, the couple explained that their divorce was "not the result of any of the speculation reported by the tabloid media".
"This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration. We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another," they added.
At the time, rumors quickly swirled that the Fight Club actor had fallen for his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star, Angelina Jolie.
While the pair denied any physical affair while Pitt was still married, they admitted they fell in love during filming. Shortly after the divorce, they confirmed their relationship, launching the era of “Brangelina".
However, it wasn't until later that a pivotal moment between Pitt and the Friends actress came to light.

According to The Morning Show star's long-time friend and co-star Courteney Cox, Pitt had been transparent with Aniston about his feelings for Jolie.
“I don’t think he started an affair physically, but I think he was attracted to her,” Cox said in a 2005 interview with Vanity Fair. “There was a connection, and he was honest about that with Jen.
"Most of the time, when people are attracted to other people, they don’t tell. At least he was honest about it. It was an attraction that he fought for a period of time," she added.
While the confession may have spared Aniston from finding out through tabloids, it came at a time when she was already going through a difficult personal chapter.
With Friends ending in 2004, sources close to the couple suggested she was navigating a transitional period while Pitt was away filming. Per The Mirror, one insider shared: "They gradually lost sight of themselves as individuals. And despite their nice lifestyle and having everything they might want, they weren't happy. They lost a sense of self."
Following the split, the Just Go With It actress was frequently cast by the media as the heartbroken ex, caught in an alleged rivalry with Jolie. But ten years later, she dismissed those narratives with poise.
"I think it's time people stop with that petty B.S. and start celebrating great work and stop with the petty kind of silliness," Aniston told Entertainment Tonight, adding that the fixation on the Jolie-Aniston dynamic is "tiresome and old," like "an old leather shoe".

Pitt and Jolie eventually married in 2014 but divorced in 2016 after two years. Their separation led to a protracted legal battle over custody of their six children - Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne - as well as disputes over a jointly owned vineyard.
Meanwhile, Aniston has continued to focus on her career and privacy, rarely engaging with the ongoing commentary surrounding her past relationships.
