Anya Taylor-Joy has publicly confirmed her two-year marriage and shared a glimpse of her disturbing wedding cakes.
The 27-year-old actress star first met her husband, Malcolm McRae, at the 2020 premiere of her critically acclaimed Netflix series, The Queen's Gambit.
Days later, a smitten McRae - who is a member of the band More - took to Instagram to reveal an original song he wrote for Taylor-Joy after he met her. The singer wrote in the caption: "I wrote this song for Anya two days after meeting her. It’s called 'Really Want to See You Again.'"
It wasn't until May 2021 that the couple confirmed their romance after they were pictured kissing while walking around NYC.
It was first rumored by Page Six that Taylor-Joy and McRae had tied the knot in a secret and intimate courthouse ceremony in the United States back in July 2022.
However, fans were left confused as in October 2023, pictures of The Menu actress donning a wedding dress in Venice, Italy, surfaced on the internet.
It has now been revealed by the Last Night in Soho star herself that she and the musician actually exchanged vows two years ago in New Orleans.
Taking to Instagram, Taylor-Joy penned: "Two years ago, on April Fools, I secretly married my best friend in New Orleans. The magic of that day is ingrained in every cell of my being, forever."
Turning her attention to her musician beau, she went on: "Happy second ( first ) anniversary my love... you're the coolest. N.B Yes, those are anatomically correct heart cakes. Yes, I am the vampire Lestat."

The award-winning star added that her Dior wedding dress, embellished with hummingbirds and thistles, was "beautifully embroidered with our love story."
In her grid carousel, Taylor-Joy shared a stunning photo of herself walking through an old cathedral in her tan wedding dress, and a snap of her sitting on a couch alongside her husband, Cara Delevingne, and another wedding guest.
She also posted a clip of herself and McRae crossing arms with each other as they took the first bite of their vampiric heart-shaped wedding cakes on her Instagram Story.
Many fans flooded the comment section with supportive messages for the couple and voiced their reactions to the interesting cakes. One user wrote: "I'm glad you finally felt good about sharing this with us! Happy 2 years, lovebirds! The most beautiful in the world, all the love in this world."
Another said: "The most beautiful. I'm glad you two could talk about this on your own terms, when you chose to."
A third commented "Who doesn’t enjoy eating a heart every now and again?" while a fourth exclaimed: "ANATOMICALLY CORRECT HEART CAKES ‼️‼️‼️
In an April 2023 interview with British Vogue, the Peaky Blinders star opened up about how she found her perfect match in McRae.
"I've finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading," she said. "I said to my partner the other day that he was my hobby. I see reading as something that I have to do. He loved it because he's the same. We're basically 80 years old and seven at the same time, and it works really well."
McRae also marked the couple's wedding anniversary with an Instagram post of his own, writing: "I love you now and somehow I always have and somehow it will never end.
"Happy two-year anniversary (yesterday), beautiful," he added, sharing wedding photos and a video of himself and Taylor-Joy talking and kissing.
