Taylor Swift's team has recently broken their silence regarding ongoing rumors that the star was secretly married.
The 33-year-old singer's publicist hit out at rumors which alleged that Swift was secretly married to her former boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn.
It turns out the rumor was first started by the notorious gossip account DeuxMoi - who shared an Instagram story claiming that Swift and Alwyn "did have a ceremony" in the United Kingdom in 2020 or 2021.
"It was described to me as a 'marriage' by more than one person. It was never made legal," the anonymous account claimed earlier this week. "I will die on this hill! Put it on my tombstone! I have no reason to lie, I could give a s*** what she does!!!!! I’m sorry she didn’t tell you guys about it in a song but just because she doesn’t sing about something doesn’t mean it didn’t happen!!!"
Taking to Twitter, better known now as X, publicist Tree Paine directly attacked DeuxMoi for circulating the rumor.
"Enough is enough with these fabricated lies about Taylor from Deuxmoi," she wrote in a tweet alongside a screenshot of an Instagram Story by the account. "There was NEVER a marriage or ceremony of ANY kind. This is an insane thing to post. It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these."
Have a look at the tweet below:After Paine's post went viral, the gossip account released an apology - well, a half-apology at best - on their Instagram Stories.
"Well I make zero dollars from lying... can publicists say the same," DeuxMoi shared on November 30, along with a screenshot of Paine’s statement. "Also, to relate something that is in reference to something that happened years ago to 'pain and trauma' after what just happened seems like a poor choice of words."
"Either way, I apologize to Taylor," the post concluded.
Entertainment Tonight first reported the news of the 33-year-old singer's break up with the 32-year-old British actor on April 8, stating that a source close to the pair had revealed their separation happened weeks prior to the first reports.
"The relationship had just run its course. It's why [Alwyn] hasn't been spotted at any shows," the source continued before adding that "they simply grew apart and plan to remain friends."
But the world is healing since the star had been romantically linked with NFL star Travis Kelce, as fans have spotted the pair all loved up on multiple occasions.
An adorable moment between the couple recently went viral and showed the Grammy award-winning singer running up to her boyfriend and jumping into his arms before planting a kiss on his lips.
As the pair walked off behind the curtain, you could see Swift turn her head to kiss her boyfriend again as fans continued to cheer at the adorable interaction.
Not only that, but on the same night Swift changed the lyrics to her hit song 'Karma' to include a few words about her new beau, who was seen supporting her from the VIP tent alongside her dad.
Swift replaced the lyrics "Karma is the guy on the screen coming straight home to me," to: "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me."
Fans who recorded his reaction saw the professional football player cover his face, seemingly blushing over the obvious lyric change. He also continued jamming to the song with the biggest smile on his face while fans around him - who were naturally still hooked on the amending of the tune - continued to scream their lungs out.
We can't help but stan!
